1) What inspired you to write My Vampire Love and Wicked Desires?

People always ask me this and you’d be surprised by the answer. Most people think that it was some kind of brilliant event or something, but the story behind My Vampire Love and Wicked Desires is really simple. For My Vampire Love, my brother and I was talking one night (we were a little drunk, lol) and I don’t know how, but the topic of arranged marriages came up and he asked what I would do if I was being forced into one. I thought about it for a second and then said I would hate the guy just because I was being forced to marry him. Because, you know to me that makes total sense.lol - hating someone who’s absolutely perfect for me in every way because he was taking away my freedom. I know that’s kinda psychotic, but that how I think.

Anyway I didn’t write the story right away - I was six chapters into Katalin’s Diary, but the question - and the idea - wouldn’t leave me alone. It was like (and this is where I start sounding crazy) having people in my head constantly shouting at me and no matter how much I ignored them they just wouldn’t go away or shut up until I wrote their story. Anyway I was bored and home alone so I decided to write the first chapter - My Vampire Love was never meant to be anything but that first chapter.

For Wicked Desires… I have no idea… I was on a beach, laying in the shade and to kill the time I started experimenting with my characters - ‘hooking up’ certain characters to see what the outcome would be. Considering that Jason joined Katalin’s army and Kristen’s past I thought it would be interesting to see where they went together… And I was right…

2.) What kind of things do you draw inspiration from?

My inspiration comes from a very weird place - boredom and peace. Lol. My process is just doing absolutely nothing, having a totally blank mind that wonders free and if I’m bored long enough people will start talking in my head. Jen and Eric will start having conversations or Katalin will appear doing something that even I don’t understand half of the time… And once those conversations or actions are there, I don’t forget them - it’s always at the back of my head until I write it.

Sometimes it’s from music. When I’m stuck or can’t seem to get the words right I listen to music and this for some reason opens a gate and suddenly everything starts flowing again. It’s mostly mellow and soothing stuff like Sara Bareilles or Anna Nalick or instrumentals. I listen to all types though - from those songs on Barbie or Disney movies to country and rap. Right now I’m listening (on repeat) to a song called Survival by Rick Horrocks. This song has gotten me though the last couple chapters of Breathless.

3.) What is your favorite book (or) books on Wattpad?

My absolute favorite on wattpad… this is a hard one. Um… I love Alpha Bloodines and Nothing Left to Loose by Kirsty1000. There’s also Queen of Spades and King of Hearts by Trewest.

4.) What was the first book you ever read on Wattpad?

The first book I read was Alpha Bloodlines. I finished it in one night. I started during the night and was glued to the computer screen until the sun came up the next morning even though I had school a few hours later.

5.) Do you plan your chapters before you write them or do the ideas for the chapters come to you as you write them?

Some things I plan ahead, but most of it comes while I’m writing. When I start a story I usually don’t know anything but my MC’s first name, where he/she is at the start of the story, what’s the major conflict and how the story ends. I’ll have bits and pieces of conversations or scenes locked in my head, but everything else comes as I write. When I was writing My Vampire Love, at the start I didn’t know Eric’s name or any of the minor conflicts involved in the story, but from that very first chapter it was almost as if the story was writing itself. The best stories told are those that write themselves
