[Sophiya's P.O.V]
"I...." I started to say, then went silent since I had nothing to tell Abdullah.
He was looking at me with both of his eye-brows raised, waiting for me to answer him, but I found no words.
"Umm I...," I tried again to find the correct words but this time again, my mind went blank.
"Spill it!" Abdullah looked me in the eye but I tore my gaze away from his and stared at the air instead, not knowing what should I tell him.
Should I tell him the truth? Would he be able to help me out like a good friend? So many questions that I have in my mind but no one can answer them.
Bitting my lip, I lifted my gaze and stared into his eyes, almost getting lost in them, when Abdullah waved his hand infront of me, snapping me out of it.
"I just saw something I never had thought I would," I whispered so softly that Abdullah had to lean in closer in order to hear me.
"And what was it?" he asked.
"My ex- I saw him with-" I covered my face with my hands before I could finish my sentence so that Abdullah won't see me crying.
"It's okay," he said and before I knew it, he had pulled me closer.
His hand rested on my back as I sobbed on his shoulder.
"So that girl," he continued when I pulled away from him, rubbing my tears with the back of my hand. "What was her name?"
"Veronica?"
"Oh yeah, Veronica. She was right. You did recently face a break-up," he thoughtfully said.
"Yes, but her choice of words wasn't exactly right!"
I was on the verge of tears and Abdullah sensed it, so he lead me out of the college before asking, "So you really loved him, right?"
I only nodded, knowing I was not in the position to utter a single word. That's when I completely lost it. Tears flooded my face but I didn't even bother to stop them, knowing I won't be able to, no matter how hard I try.
"Sophiya, don't cry! Please?" He patted my back gently.
I didn't reply him or rather I couldn't reply him. Instead I rested my head on his chest and closed my eyes, feeling his heart flutter, symbolizing that life goes on.
He traced circles on my back with his thumb and I relaxed, feeling a lot more better. Then sighing, I pulled myself away.
I still couldn't lift my gaze and look him in the eye.
"Stop staring the floor, Sophiya, look at me!"
When I didn't, Abdullah put his finger under my chin and lifted it up so that I was now looking at him.
Then he smiled and moved his finger from my chin to my ear and his smile and touch made my heart dance around with pleasure.
I smiled back as I stared in his brown eyes that shone so brightly that illuminated his face.
He softly whispered "everything will be alright," and for the first time I believed in his words. But after a moment, it didn't make any sense.
My smile was now gone as I took a step away from Abdullah. He frowned.
"Abdullah, let's go back or we'll be late for our next class," I stated.
"Oh," he said checking the time from his watch. "But Sophiya, you'll have to promise me something"
It was now my turn to frown.
"Promise me you won't cry again"
"It's not that easy, alas," I said bitterly.
"But promise me that you'll atleast try."
"Promise," I said as a smile made it's way on my lips before Abdullah and I headed back to our college.
