         "Today's the day!" My dad came into my room, practically yelling.

         "Go away," I said after picking up my pillow and covering my ears.

       "Come on, honey. I know that you don't really like this school but we have no other option," my dad says softly before his face morphs back into a gigantic smile. "Now, hurry up and get downstairs, your mom made pancakes!" I hear his voice slowly drift away like the wind. I wish the wind would drift me away so that I wouldn't have to face the wrath of the treacherous place that I'm destined to arrive at today. I open one eye and look around.

           "Nope, I'm still here," I mumble to myself. The week of goodbyes passed by so quickly and throughout it, I was constantly doing something, anything really, to get myself out of boarding school. As you can see, nothing worked.

            I  Finally drag myself out of bed and look around. What a mess!  As I'm looking around, my eye catches one thing in particular. Xavier's red sweater.

Flashback!!

           "You piece of shit! You told me that you were coming to high school with me! I can't believe that you would do this to me after we've been together for so long!" My boyfriend yells at me.

         "I'm sorry Xavier but they didn't find out till a few days ago that they were going to be gone for so long. Don't you think I want to stay too!" I said with tears streaming down my face and rising anger. All of a sudden, I feel the wind being knocked out of me and I slam onto the hard ground. I realize that it had been Xavier's fist that had me drove into the ground. I curl up and hold my stomach, forcing the bile rising up to push back. I can't believe he just did that. Doesn't he realize that I want to stay? I feel my windpipe clog up as he kicks me again and again. I try to fight back but to no avail, my fists just flail around helplessly.

           When he's finally done, he backs up and looks at me with blood on his hands. "That's for being a bitch," he says before turning around and walking away. He doesn't look back.

Flashback over!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
               As my body reels back at the memory, I suddenly have the urge to look at my bruises that formed. After all, it was only a few days ago. I pad over to the bathroom that's connected to my room and lift up my shirt in front of the mirror. The ugly black and blue deformity is something that only Ava has seen because I told her what happened. She wanted to go and castrate Xavier but I told her that it was fine. I was ok and I still am. Come on Jessica, this is a brand  new day and you have to try and be happy. If not for yourself, then at least for your parents, I thought to myself.
               I quickly hopped into the shower and turned the knobs until the water was just where I wanted it. After I was done with my shower, I chose to put on a black and white jersey with black leggings that were partially see through, along with my mint green shoes. I did minimal makeup which was basically a little mascara and then I topped it off with 3 rings and a silver necklace (Image Above). I looked pretty cute if I do say so myself.
              I grabbed my mint green suitcases, that coincidentally matched with my shoes, grabbed a granola bar and hopped into my parents awaiting car after they had helped me get the suitcases in. My parents drove me to the airport--did I mention that my boarding school's in California--where I started looking around for Ava. All of a sudden, I felt something, more like a someone, tazor my right side which caused me to erupt into giggles. I turned around to face the person responsible and was met only with a guiltily smiling Ava.
           "AVA!" I yelled
          "JESSICA!" She copied back laughing while hugging me.
        We separate and she gives me a once over. "Ooh, you look hot," she said. "Are you trying to catch some boys already?" She asks, moving her eyebrows suggestively. Then, out of nowhere, she squeals while pointing to my right. I look to see a handsomely attractive face staring right back but while my face probably looks excited/nervous, his looks extremely bored and serious. "He's so hot!" Ava exclaims. "I wanna get seats next to him. OMG, wouldn't it be so cool if he went to the same boarding school as us?" She asks.
        "Eh. He's okay," I reply.
       "Okay?" She asks incredulously. "That is not 'okay,' that is the epitome of beauty. You know sometimes, I just really don't understand you." We stare at each other before we burst into laughter. Our parents watch bemusedly as we end up doubled-over, holding our stomachs. Ava suddenly stops. "Don't look now but hot guy's staring," she says seriously.
       "Really? Where?" I say turning around, already forgetting that she told me not to. I turn only to meet the hard stare of this unknown stranger. For some reason, his gaze really pulls me in and I can't help but keep looking, mesmerized in his eyes. I subconsciously hear the intercom above announce that our flight's about to board but the stranger just keeps staring, and so do I, lost. Right up until Ava shakes me out of it. "What? Oh, sorry," I say while trying to wake myself up.
        "Come on girls, aren't you guys gonna at least say goodbye before leaving?" Ava's dad, Mason, asks. I walk up to my dad before pulling him in a tight hug which he gladly returns, holding me close.
        "I love you," I whisper in his ear.
       "I love you too," He says, his voice breaking a bit.
       "Bye Mr. Matthews," I say to Ava's dad.
     "Goodbye sweetheart," He replies back. "We're gonna miss you guys," He says sadly. I smile before grabbing hold of Ava's wrist and pulling her towards the line to get our boarding passes checked, which we got after we checked in. All the while, Ava lectures me on how when your best friend says 'don't look,' you're not supposed to look but I'm barely paying attention, too busy thinking about the stranger who was staring at me. We quickly get our passes checked and I'm so tired that as soon as we get into our business class seats, our parents' one gift, I fall into a deep sleep. Too deep to notice a certain stranger whose seat is right next to mine...
