Undone

Once the words were said,
Nothing could be undone.
Such a war was fought
And no one knows who won.
For the blood shed on both sides
Equalled the tides at sea.
I couldn't tell if it was their blood,
Or if it came from me.
Salt and copper taste did mix
From the wounds, caused by their tricks.
Cries of agony.
Cries of pain.
It's a wonder if we're sane
And yet,
I wonder,
If terms could have been met,
Or, if the gun was jumped.
But either way
I fear too late-
Everything's in ruins.......

Once the words were said,
Nothing could be undone.
Much did we rejoice
As we were sure we'd won.
For at last, safe was our hide
And everyone was free.
Nobody had to spill their blood,
Except for little ol' me.
Salt down my cheeks did flow,
Sadly I think, I never got to let them know...
Cries of joy.
Cries of pain.
Never know to have sounded the same
And yet,
I wonder,
If their eyes will be wet,
Or, if I died for good cause.
But either way
I wonder too late-
Everything's gone black.......
