When I was but a sprout,
I did not worry about
The qualms of man and mortals.

But now that I am older,
I find I am growing bolder
In ways I did not used to be.

I find that if I smile
Every once in a while,
My heart both shrinks and grows.

As tricky as this is to understand,
Please know this is not as planned
For how I wish things to be.

But there are days when I wake,
And feel like there was a mistake,
For my heart only increases or decreases in size.

So if, in a pinch,
I act like a Grinch,
Please know that it is not your doing.

Unless you are a bitch,
For, if that is the sitch,
To you I will be doing the shooing.

{Please pardon the last part, I could not help myself. Carry on..}
