Chapter 1:

(Em's POV)

I looked out my bedroom window and seen Kendall pull into the drive way. I grabbed my bags and ran as fast and quietly as I could down the stairs. When I peeked in the living room I saw my over protective parents sitting on the couch watching the news. Somehow I have to figure out a way to get to the back door without those losers seeing me. I decided to take off my shoes. They were way to loud! Quietly, I tip toed across the room and reached the back door. I let out a sigh of relief. I can't believe I made it! I go to turn the door knob, when all of the sudden, my phone started vibrating like crazy! Quickly, I pulled it out of my pocket, afraid my parents would hear it. When I checked the screen, Kendall's name popped up. "I'm here, em. Are you ready?" I opened the text and smiled. "Definitely! I'm coming out the back door." I replied. I checked on my parents one more time. Thank god they didn't hear my phone. Finally, I stepped out the back door and ran towards the driveway. Kendall seen me and waved. His blond hair and blue eyes took my breath away. I smiled back and opened the passenger door. Kendall drives a black BMW. He got it for his eighteenth birthday, and five years later it still looks brand new. I hopped into the car and put my seat belt on. Kendall gave me a kiss on the check. "I can't wait to get away from here, and have it be just the two of us." Kendall said sweetly. I blushed. "I know! It's gonna be great!" I said. He put the car in reverse and started to back out of the drive way. "Are you ready, em?" I nod. "I'm more ready than I've ever been!" We drove in silence for a few minutes and then I heard Kendall giggling. "What's so funny?" I asked him looking confused. "Nothing!" He says sarcastically. "Seriously Kendall, what's so funny?" He points to my feet and starts laughing again. Then, I remembered I wasn't wearing any shoes! I started giggling too. "What? You were so afraid that your parents would catch you that you forgot to put on shoes?"

He continues laughing. "No!" I say in a fake serious voice. I'm terrible at being serious. I eventually broke into laughter. Kendall gave me the "I'm not buying it" face and I playfully hit him in the arm. "Shut up!" I said jokingly. I explained why I wasn't wearing any shoes and he understood. We took a left turn on the express way. "Only twenty-four hours to go!" He said with an excited look on his face. "WOO HOO!" I screamed. He laughed and smiled at me. Running away with Kendall for a little while felt good! I'm already twenty-one and I've never done anything exciting or dangerous. I can't wait forever! My parents will probably hate me when I get back, but I don't care. I love Kendall, and he only comes around once in a life time. Noes my chance! I've dated other guys, but there nothing like Kendall. I can't explain it. Kendall just makes me feel so, Alive!
