Aria finds out that she is finally able to follow her dreams and visit London for the summer with the help of her brother. Also a little flashback to how this dream finally started.Chapter 2
*4 DAYS LATER*I woke up at 5:30am this morning because i was too excited about going to london, so I made sure I had everything packed and ready for my flight at 11am. I had breakfast watched some t.v tried to keep still but I couldn't, it was only 8am, I just wanted to get on the plane right away! I had to distract myself for another 2 hours so I decided to go shop for a couple new things for the flight and for the 2 mouths I'm staying in the apartement Daniel helped me rent for the time I will be spending in London.
When I got back from shopping I realized that I only bought clothes...oops! when I got back I packed the clothes I bought and brought everything down by the front door, and seconds later the doorbell rang, it was Daniel.
"Thanks for offering to driving me to the airport." I said to the cheeky lad (I've been working real hard to get some british words in my head), who is at the front door of my house making sure I got everything, 'cause he never really trust me with packing, I will forget literally everything. Then the reality hit me, he paid for my ticket? What.
"It's no problem, really. I'm going to miss saying goodbye to my favorite person in the world." he said as he put his arm around my shoulder, walking down the driveway to his car that was parked in front of the house.
"Thanks Dan, it really means a lot. I do not want 'control freak' driving if she would even offer, it would have been the most awkward car ride in my entire life." I air quoted, me and Dan always have inside jokes and that's one of them about our dearest mother.
"Even more awkward than the time you ask if I wanted a lift to school, and your 'friend' came along. She was practically trying to rip your clothes off in the passenger seat when you were trying to drive." I continued with a chuckle, it was really awkward watching them...
*
The car ride was peaceful and quiet, all that could be heard was the radio inside the car. My brother had changed his Range rover into a black convertible, and I definitely like this one better. In other words: my dream car. Daniel always likes to keep the roof down, and he finds it relaxing having the wind brush through is beautiful hair; his words, not mine.
Everything was so calm until Dan's favorite song came on, it was Can't Hold Us by his favorite artist: Macklemore, and he almost shrieked like a fangirl. Fanboy much.
The beat started, and I must admit I only like this song because it's got a really cool beat and I personally love rap music. Even though i can't understand most of his lines.
"Return of the Mack, get up! What it is, what it does, what it is, what it isn't.
Looking for a better way to get up out of bed"
That was all the lines I could catch before macklemore began to rumble. I could only catch a few words.
"... Internet ..."
"... Thrift shop..."
What.
"... party..."
"And we did it, our way."
Its funny to imagine how Macklemore can talk this fast, and it's funnier to watch your brother attempt to rap, especially when he is always off tone. I think that I am the only one in our family that has a decent voice, or at least its what my mom thinks...
My mom made me join the choir when I was little, even though I hated it. I never hated singing, its just the environment that I hate. She forced me to go to choir every wednesday night for 8 months every year was pure torture, and I've been doing it for three year. THREE YEARS OF MY PRECIOUS TIME. She said, the only reason she sends there was to give me something to do in life instead of sit around watching shows and movies. But I think that wasn't the whole reason, she couldn't care less about how I 'waisted my time', she only wanted me to go was because I wasn't a social person younger and the only friend I had moved away after Year two. (Another fancy british word that I learned from Wikipedia) So my mom signed me up to make new friends that shared the same hobby. She tried. It didn't help me at all...
"Come on A, SING WITH ME!" my brother's scratchy scream knocked me out of my thought of my horrible childhood.
"Here we go back, this is the moment
Tonight's the night, we'll fight 'til it's over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can't hold us
Like the ceiling can't hold us
Here we go back, this is the moment
Tonight's the night, we'll fight 'til it's over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can't hold us
Like the ceiling can't hold us."
I sang the rest of the song on the top of my lungs and Dan did the same as me. I didn't care if the window was down and I don't care if people are staring at us like weirdos. Since it was my brothers favorite song, he had it on his IPhone and would put it on repeat every time he drove me somewhere, by the third time he drove me, I had memorized the lyrics. After a couple more minutes the song ended and we just laughed and talk to rest of the way to the airport. I love spending time with him, he's just so cool, calm, and collected.
*
"Thanks again for driving me to the airport." I said ruffling my hair with my free hand as he walked me in the airport.
"No problem girly, but I do think that you should call mom and say goodbye before you get on the plane." he said as he put a small smile on his face while putting down the bags he carried in for me.
"Bu-" he stopped me.
"Just do it, it might make you feel better before you leave just to say bye."
"Alright." I simply said while taking my phone out off my purse and dialing my mom's cell. You see she was not home when I got up this morning, I guess she didn't want to see her daughter get ready to leave her.
After more than three rings it just went to voicemail. I was kinda upset that she didn't want to answer my call, it hurt. I know she was mad at me for leaving just like dan did when he was my age, but I thought she got over it and accepted the fact that I wanted to do this, and that I was growing up and she could not stop that. It broke my heart to even think that she didn't want to say goodbye to me.
"...leave a message after the beep. beeeeeeeeeeeeeep."
Here goes nothing
"Hey mom, I didn't see you this morning when I woke up and when I left for the airport. I want to say goodbye before I stepped on the plane. so.. ya, goodbye mom and i'll see you in a while."
I finished the voicemail and just hung up.
"She didn't answer.." I managed to say and then tears were circling in my eyes. Dan realized how my emotion changed and hugged me tightly it was comforting, they are supposed to make you feel better, but it's not taking any affect on me.
"It's alright. Shes not going to be mad forever, she loves you." Dan said in a soothing voice and rubbed circles on my back slowly. Bring me comfort and making me feel alot better.
"She didn't even say goodbye." I whined, pulling away from his hug and wiping the tears that have fall on my cheeks with the back of my hand. I know that my mom and I don't get along most of the time, but I thought a mother would have the love for a daughter that will never break and always be tight as a knot, but i guess that the knot sometime loosens.
"I guess I should be going now, my flight will be called soon." I paused looking at my brother. "Thanks for always being there for me." I hugged him for longer period of time since it looks like its going to be a while until I receive another hug from him.
"Thanks for being there for me, but not this time. i have to do this on my own" I thought and walked into the gate without taking another look back.
