MY ADVENTURE TO THE GREAT WORLD OF MOOCASHO CHAPTER 6

CHAPTER 6 

“We’ve been walking for hours can we stop for a rest now,” Lizzie said stopping to catch her breath. “We can’t stop now if we do we might not make it out of the jungle by nightfall.” Ben said moving a breach out of his way. “ come on Ben, we will never make it out before night fall if we are all so tired we can’t even walk!” I said “she’s right Ben I know we need to get out of the jungle before nightfall but we also need to rest.” Maggie said sitting down on a nearby rock. “Fine we will rest for 5 minutes but that’s it, Lizzie pass me the water.” He said putting out his hand when Lizzie looked through the bag. She pulled out the canteen of water and handed it to Ben. “So if we head north for another hour or two we should get to a clearing and we can rest for the night and make shelter.” Ben said sipping some of the water. “Wait were is Maggie?” I said “oh she’s sitting over there on that rock…” Lizzie said turning around to realize that Maggie and the so called rock were gone “or she was”. There was a giant hole were the rock used to be and four large footprints that looked like a mixture of a tiger and an ostrige.

 “Where could she have gone?” Ben said “I don’t think she went anywhere I think she was taken by that thing she was sitting on” I said “well were could that thing have taken her and why?” Lizzie said “Well it looks as if they went that way” Ben said pointing to the way that we just came from. “ya and how do you know that? Did you just look up into the sky and the Boy Scout in you told you that the thing that took Maggie went that way, well I don’t buy it.” Lizzie said “Maybe I’m just the smart one of the family.” Ben said “Or maybe it was the giant footprints that match were Maggie was sitting, that lead that way” I said walking over to the footprints. “if we go that way then we won’t be able to get out of the jungle in time for nightfall” Lizzie said “and if we don’t go that way we may never see Maggie again, I choose to go that way to find Maggie, but if you want to, you can keep going in the other direction and we will meet you at the clearing tomorrow” Ben said bending down to get a better look at the footprints. “There like nothing I have ever seen before” said Lizzie “is anything in here like anything you have seen?” I asked “we should get going if we want to have a chance of getting to Maggie before dark.” Ben said following the footprints. We followed the footprints all the way to ta cave, near a small pond. We crouched down near the entrance and looked inside but it was too dark to see anything, so we took out the flashlights that Henry gave us and ventured into the cave, not knowing what we might run into or who.

We had been walking in the cave for about 5 minutes when we started to hear voices. When we got to a little room in the cave we could see light and hear voices, we knelt down just outside the opening and snuck a look inside. The cave what damp and dirty, the walls were covered in what looked like slim and it smelled like a zoo. There were three human like things in the cave, they talked and moved like humans but they looked like a mix between a giant turtle and a lion, it had a hard rock like shell on its back and its face was like the face of a lion, all fury and orange it was the scariest thing I had ever seen. In the corner of the room there was a little cage and sitting in that cage was Maggie, she was curled up into a little ball. “Henry didn’t say anything about giant turtle lion things did him?” Lizzie said “she must be terrified, what do you think they want with her?” I asked “I don’t know but I don’t want to wait and find out” Ben said standing up, I pulled him down by the arm and said “we can’t just barge in there, we need a plan and I know just what to do” I said. We spent the next couple of minutes going over the plan that I had made, and I had to say it was a pretty great plan. The plan was that Ben was going to make a distraction and then I was going to sneak over to the cage and when Lizzie got the keys we would free Maggie then we were all going to make a run for it out of the cave. “Hello there my good friends” Ben said walking into the cave and standing right in front of the turtle lions. “Well, well, well that do we have here, more meat I guess right guys” said the first turtle lion “um hi may name is Ben Grandbois and…” Ben said “oh look he is trying to talk us out of eating him how sweet, it’s not going to work.” Said the second “you have me all wrong I am here to help you eat me, the right way” Ben said. I started moving towards Maggie and the cage, when I was suddenly lifted into the air by the third turtle lion. “ look what we have here boys, this little girl was trying to free her friend and I bet that on was meant to distract us so she could free our dinner” the third thing said “ well sorry for messing up your plan but now we get to eat all three of you for dinner.” Said the first, thing.
