CHAPTER 9

When Lizz walked in the door we all expected to see Maggie right behind her, but when I realized it was just her I went crazy

“What were you thinking letting her go out there all alone, she’s going to get herself killed!” I yelled, I was really angry I mean what was Lizz thinking letting Maggie go like that, we barely made it here without dying and there were four of us.

“I’m not stupid; I was not going to let her go out there all alone.” Lizz said

“What do you mean?” Ben said now joining into the conversation.

“I told Edmoth, Josthey and Webly to go with her, and she said we would see each other again, back at the house.” Lizz said like that made everything better

“Wait, you let those turtlelions go with her?” Julia said coming out of the corner she was patiently waiting, and obviously listening from.

“ ya why they’re the ones that got us here I thought they would help get her to the falls, they were a little hesitant at first but when I told them I was giving  her the whistle so they didn’t need to worry about something trying to kill them, they were all for it.” Lizz said with a smile on her face

“Do you mean the whistle, from the battle of forestia, that whistle?” Julia asked

“ya”

“And you gave it to Maggie, who is going with the turtlelions?”

“ya?, is there something going on here that I don’t know?” Lizz asked confused, we all were except for Julia

“Are you stupid?” she said

“Julia, can you tell us what’s going on?” Ben asked

“Everyone knows that the turtelions work for king moocashoo, and he has been looking for that whistle for ages now, they are going to take the whistle and Maggie to the king so he can make an example of her.

“We need to find her and get her away from them, before it’s too late.” Ben said

“Wait we can’t leave now it’s almost dark we will start bright and early tomorrow morning.” Julia said

“But they already have a big enough head start, we should start now, it’s my fault they have her.” Lizz said

“She’s right Lizz they want her alive so they will protect her, and if we go now and something happens to us, how is that going to help Maggie?” I said

“I guess your right” Lizz said

“We should get to bed soon if we are to leave early tomorrow” Ben said

BACK TO MAGGIE, EDMOTH, WEBLY AND JOSTHEY.

“Can I take a break please?” Maggie said painting from exhaustion; they had been walking for hours none stop. Webly and his brothers were much bigger then Maggie and their legs were longer, so it was easier for them to walk long distances without being tired.

“We just rested like 5 minutes ago” said Josthey

“More like five hours ago, how are you guys not even tired” she said

“our kind is made for walking great distances without getting tired, back  before king moocashoo we walked all over the earth…” Webly said

“But when king Moocashoo was crowned he said we were too ugly to be seen in public and we were banished to the caves” Edmoth finished

“That’s so sad I can see why you guys hate him.” She said

After resting for a little bit, they were about to start walking again when they heard a growling sound coming from the trees they had just come from.

“What was that?” Maggie asked moving behind Edmoth for protection

“There is only one animal that makes that noise” Webly said taking a defensive position

“What kind of animal?” Maggie asked now completely hiding behind Edmoth

Before they had a chance to answer the ugliest thing I had ever seen came running out of the trees and there was a person on its back. The creature was very big and fury, it had a horn like one from a rhino and the body of a bear. The person on its back was wearing black, and he was carrying a spear. Four more men on creatures came out of the trees after the first guy, they all looked the same.

“We are the loyal guards of moocashoo, and we have been informed that you are conspiring against the king, we have come to bring you to the king to be judged. Surrender or be taking by force.” one of the guards said.

“What do we do?” Maggie asked sacred

“We do whatever they say; once we get to the king we will tell him we were just helping you back to town because you got lost, hopefully he will believe us and let us go.” Josthey said putting his hands in the air to signify his surrender.

“Hopefully? That doesn’t make me feel any safer” Maggie said putting her hands up as well.

Then the five men and their creatures started leading them away from the falls and away from Maggie’s chance of getting back home.
