Day 2 of helping Oliver is a go. I still don't trust he's going to take this seriously, I mean yesterday was actually a lot of fun.
"Hey know it all" Oliver said pulling me from my thoughts as he sat down getting out his binder and a pencil. "Hey troublemaker" I replied. "So what are we learning today?" "uh what do you want to do?" A sly smile formed on his lips "well there's a list of things I want to do..... With you." I rolled my eyes ignoring what he said. "How about science?" "science is the worst literally." he rolled his eyes. "Well you've got to pass it mate."
"Kell did you just say mate?" he looked at me with a smug grin on his face. "Yes, but did you just call me Kell?" "it seems I did" "anyway okay lets get to work." "how about we do something?" he smiled at me. "Something like school work?" I smiled back at him. "No how about we ditch this place and do something adventurous?" "what's more fun than doing homework?" I asked "do you even hear yourself Kellin, haven't you ever wanted to just let go for one day?" "I can't, if I do let up I'll lose my spot for Valedictorian, and your dad is counting on me to keep you out of trouble." "well if you change your mind you can find me outside." he winked, getting out of his seat and walking out of the library doors.
Should I go and get him? Or stay here and work on my english essay? I grabbed my binder from my backpack, opening up to my essay.
My mind kept nagging me to go make sure Oliver isn't getting into too much trouble. I mean he seems to like me so maybe I can get him to come back and do schoolwork if I flirt with him.
Do I know how to flirt though? Do I know how to get my way I have never flirted with anyone and no one wants to date a know it all, like me. Why would Oliver like me? I mean I'm not ugly, but I'm nothing special. Oliver on the other hand is tall, handsome and has the greatest accent. No Kellin shake those thoughts out now, you need to focus on graduating, and helping Oliver pass this test.
I got up out of my chair quickly, pushing it in before leaving out the library doors. I don't even know where he went. "Oliver?" I whisper turning the corner down the hallway that leads outside to the front of the school. I made it to the door giving it a push and let the wind caress my cheeks. It felt great outside, I couldn't help but smile. "I see you changed your mind" Oliver said casing me to jump a little. "No actually I came here to get you to come back inside." I replied "You can just admit you wanted to come out here. Sometimes it's nice to come out here when no one is around and you can just think, you can stop to listen to the world. Listen to the birds chirp or cars passing by." he wasn't looking at me anymore but looking out at the grey- blue sky. "Is that why you sluff so much?" I ask quietly. "No." he replies quickly, indicating he didn't want to talk about whatever was bothering him. "Look how about we make a compromise, we can study outside if you'll actually do the work." I offer. "Okay deal but you also need to learn how to let go and have fun." "I can't I already told you if I let up I'll lose my spot as Valdictorian, and I can't lose it." "Why is it so important to you?" "Because school has been the only thing I've been good at and the only thing my parents are ever proud of me for." "Kellin you can do and be anything you want and I'm sure they'll still be proud of you." "You know what I'm gonna go get our books and stuff I'll be back." I walked back inside trying to hold back the tears threatening to spill over. I love school but my parents are constantly breathing down my neck, everyone is counting on me to graduate top of my class, go to college and be someone.
I would love to let go and have fun but that would disappoint my parents they are already disgusted that I'm gay. They've always wanted me to marry a nice girl, and have a family. I can't help who I am.
A/N: wow first update in months. It's short but they'll get longer, I want them to build a friendship & realise they aren't that different from each other... next update you'll find out olivers story of why he's a troublemaker. also this story is slowly getting reads and people are commenting and voting and honestly it makes me happy so thank you for reading this story I'll try and get better about updating 💖
