The ball

As I stood next to the thrones of my parents, I watched as couples danced, and men asked ladies if they could have the pleasure. But when the door opened, I was not expecting the person behind it to be so breathtakingly handsome,he smiled and thanked the doorman as he came in. He was followed by guards, so I knew he must be a prince, but then he walked straight up to my parents.
" your majesty." He bowed to my father," your highness" he then bowed to my mother.
"Ah. Prince baelfire. Right on time." My father said. So this is baelfire!? I thought. I must be dreaming! I pinched my arm, just to make sure I was awake.
"Please your majesty, call me Neal." Baelfire said politely.
"As you wish. I do believe it's time for you to meet my daughter. Emma." My father said as he gestured over to me.
"Um... Hello." I said as I curtsied.
"M-lady" he said gently taking and kissing my hand as he bowed. I felt my cheeks heat up slightly. He then asked if he could have this dance and my mother nodded slightly encouraging me to say yes. "It would be a pleasure." I said as he took my hand and led me out to the ball room floor. All the guests stepped aside as Neal and I walked by to the center of the floor. The musicians started playing a slow song and Neal and I, along with all of the guests, started dancing. As we danced we talked. I found out that Neal's father is a very powerful and influential man. Though, Neal cares nothing for all the power, he just wants someone to love who will love him back. As he talks I think to myself this is exactly what I always wanted in a man. He's loyal, and kind, and doesn't care about power or money. After a while he asks me questions about myself. I tell him that I always look for the good in people, I'm not one of the princesses that only care about hair, makeup, dresses, money and princes. I'm more for a sword, saddle and horse. He smiles at this and I blush slightly. After a few hours of dancing, we find ourselves in the courtyard. This is where he asks me if I'd like to do this again sometime. I say yes and he replies with "tomorrow evening at 5?" "Perfect." I say confirming the date.
