I guess this chapter will be pretty mch uneventful.

But hopefully we'll add something to spice up the story.

Enjoy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Reyn noticed that only 3 customers entered the store since his shift which started about 2 hours ago. The store is located near a commercial area which concerned him.

His interest peaked even more for the fact that he can only count a few passersby. It was usually a busy street.
"Sales away." Reyn murmured to himself.

As his shift goes by, Reyn only managed to serve 13 customers. In between those moments, he spent his free time arranging the stocks and displays in the store.

Without any distraction or so, he decided to turn the TV on. A loud music blurted out from the tv.

Reyn fumbled for the remote and decreased the volume. So much for a distraction, he thought.

A medium-aged guy in a professional suit appeared as he was changing channels. Under him is his name, "Director Krej Nam, Department Of Defense"

The news was reporting about a shooting incident which happened in Gahul, a couple of streets away from the place where Reyn is currently staying.

No wonder there were so few customers and passersby.

The report stated that a shooting occured during 5am to 8am.

No bodies or bloodstains were found except for markings on the walls from sharp-edged weapons.

The door dinged and a woman with a hoodie entered the store. She was panting but made efforts to conceal it.

She went by the first-aid section and grabbed some gauges.

The woman's face was hidden from view but for a moment, Reyn caught a glimpse of her eyes which were red and glowing. Glowing?

Reyn dismissed what he just saw.

The woman approached the register. Reyn proceeded to take her order and go on with the day. So much for a weird day. "That would be thre-" the woman held out a hand with a weird device on it.

"O-oh we don't accept those here, cash or credit on-ly." voice cracking. The woman was giving him the edge.

"Take it or die." The woman urged him.

Now they're glowing. Out of fear, Reyn slowly got the device from her hand.

The woman snatched the gauges and turned away. Heading for the entrance.

Reyn put the device in his pocket. He then looked backed at the woman who was just standing right outside the door, shoulders tensed.

He was about to approach the woman to ask about the device when suddenly she dashed. Dashed! She leapt with her right foot and suddenly disappeared.

3 mysterious bulk men were in sight just across the street, looking for something or someone.

Reyn stumbled back and hid behind a rack of magazines.

One of them made eye contact with Reyn. God those eyes. They're quite similar with the woman. He thought as the eyes stared down on him. Instead of a red one, a green eye can be seen. The figure was about to enter the store, each stomp can be felt as if an elephant was approaching.

The ground shuddered. He scurried further away.

Fortunately, the figure stopped just outside the door. An ally signaled for it, revealing they've found a trace or something.

Reyn was sweating profusely and breathed a sigh of relief when he peeked at the entrance and saw that the men were gone.

"Who the hell were those creepers?!" He stood up and fixed himself.

Never did Reyn knew that someone was standing at the corner near the backdoor watching him.

"What were you doing there, Reyn?" Gabe said questioningly.

"Just nothing." replied Reyn, glad that his shift was over.

He cautiously looked behind him making sure that the men were really gone.

Tossing the apron to Gabe, Reyn patted his shoulder and said, "Good luck." Reyn left Gabe who has no clue about what he said and swung open the backdoor.

The air doesn't feel right. Without further delay, he set out for his house.

Reyn pulled out his phone. Turned it on. 3:13 pm July 15, 2056 Wednesday.

A notification appeared. A message from Jaes, his neighbor and best friend. "Hey R! Am here @ Jenkos having karaoke wid a bnch of cute grls. Rply f u wanna com" It took at least 10 seconds for Reyn to read the message.

Fiddling with his phone, he made a reply "Can't too tired. Day was pretty messed up. Maybe next time." and pressed send.

"And btw, I'll be stopping by at your house, gonna get the spare key." added Reyn.

A few streets away may seem short but for Reyn it wasn't. The encounter today exhausted him. Who were they? Remembering the device the woman gave him, he reached into his leg and felt for it making sure that it was still there.

At a distance, Reyn saw a blue-colored roof with a man-sized fence surrounding the house. It belonged to Jaes.

Reyn entered the premises through a passage where Jaes taught him when he really needs to enter the house.

The passage was just through a thick bush behind the house and pass over the wall.

Upon stepping foot on the garden, Reyn quickly went to the front porch, removed a piece of wood from the flooring and got a key, a spare key to his house.

Jaes and Reyn decided to leave a spare key at Jaes house because same events frequently happens.Jaes got tired of having Reyn ask him for help.

Reyn passed through the front gate after checking that no one's around.

His house and Jaes' were only 2 blocks away from each other.

A short walk was needed to reach his house. Well actually, his flat. Being alone means cutting off costs, so Reyn decided to just rent a studio-type aparment.

Reyn slid the key and typed the passcode for his outdated electronic lock. Entered the room and locked the door behind him.

Without changing, he went directly to his bed and allowed himself to fall down on it. Face first. A couple of seconds or so, he got up and struggled for air.

He flipped over and stared at the blank ceiling. His hands making way down his pockets. Clenching the device, he raised his arms and examined it.

The device has a strap the length of the wrist. A bulky circled-shape attached to the strap. An overall dark blue color covered the whole device. No buttons or any sort of mechanism can be found except for a blank screen.

Having no interests and being tired, Reyn settled the device down, still in hand.

The room felt so quiet and cold. The sun finally set and darkness enclosed the whole space. Hours passed by. Without moving, he drifted to sleep muttering "I miss you."
