The Offices

Rudy's Pov

I broke the hug and ran back into my room.

"Can I open the gifts?" I asked Adam and Alesa, spinning around in the desk chair I have

"Go ahead!" Alesa said, coming into my room and sitting on my bed, Adam following behind

I looked at the gifts. There was a smaller one and a bigger one. All rapped up. I opened the smaller one... It was like Christmas all over again... It was an IPhone 6S...

"Holy... Poop..." I said, my eyes as wide as golf balls

"Well, do you like it?" Adam asked

"I don't like it..." I spun around to face Adam and Alesa, they looked disappointed, "I LOVE IT!"

Adam slapped his legs, "I can't believe I fell for that."

"Nether can I!" Alesa said

"Ha ha! I have tricked you!" I said, spinning back around to open my other gift

I ripped off the rapping paper and I saw a Dell laptop sitting in front of me... I felt my eyes tear up...

"I'm sorry... I don't think I can accept this..." I told them

I spun around, the laptop on my lap. First, Adam and Alesa looked disappointed. Then, they looked concerned. My eyes filled up with tears.

"Rudy! What's wrong?" Adam asked me

"My parents..." A tear rolled down my cheek, "My parent gave me laptop... My birthday..."

Adam came up to me and hugged me. I cried in Adam's embrace... Alesa with Baby Mason soon joined in.

After about 5 minutes, I stopped crying and Adam and Alesa let go of me...

"My parents died in a fire..." I said

~FLASHBACK~

I was with my parents at my old apartment when I just turned 10. It was my birthday. At around 2pm the fire alarm went off when my mom was cooking. We thought it was nothing. Then, I saw the smoke coming from the creek in the bottom of the door. I told my dad. My dad grabbed me and carried me. My dad told my mom. He told my mom to call 9-1-1... So she did. She grabbed her phone and my dad grabbed my laptop and we started to run. As we were running down the stairs with all the other people. Most of the people were coughing. All the other people were outside before we got to the bottom because we lived on the top floor. We were in the back and the flames caught up to us. My dad told me to put my hands behind my head and grab the laptop, never taking my hands away from my head. I did. My dad through me down the stairs. I tumbled down the stairs, still keeping my laptop in my hands. Stopping at the ground. My mom and dad tried to run, screaming to me 'WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU!!' Over and over again. The flames caught up to my mom and dad. Their bodies turned to ash. I started to cry. But, one of my neighbors, named Jerald, grabbed me and got me out of the fire. We watched the apartments burn... Jerald still holding me close... I was dropped off by Jerald at Sun In The Sky orphanage a few days later.

"I still have that laptop to this day..." I said

"I'm so sorry..." Alesa said, "We all are..."

"Sorry to break the mood , but I gonna get back to The Offices." Adam said

"Can I come?" I asked

"Sure. If that's ok with Alesa." Adam said

"PLEASE ALESA? PWLEASE?!" I said

"That's fine with me!" Alesa said
