CHAPTER 11
Why did you leave me?
"LOKI!" I yelled as I landed on the Stark Tower walkway.
"Ah, Cassidy. Pleasure, as always." Loki said with a slight snarl. I rolled my eyes before I replied.
"Why are you doing this?" I ask, gesturing out over the damaged city of New York. "You think you can change earth, think you can rule over all 7 billion of its inhabitants, but you can't. People have tried before, started wars in the name of conquering the world, and look how it ended for them. Maybe you do win, but Earth won't stand for it for long. It's the greatest thing about humanity. We brush it off, and get back on with our lives."
"We? You speak as if you are one of them, one of the Mortals, when when you know your true heritage." Loki asked, cocking his head to the side slightly, confused about my use of language.
"I may have Asguardian blood, but this is where I grew up. My true family abandoned me here on earth." Loki flinched. It was almost imperceptible, and probably would have been to an average pair of eyes, but I picked it up. "I was raised by mortals, and was surrounded by them as i grew older. I always have been, and always will be, part of humanity. Whether I am human or not."
Loki sighed, and closed his eyes for a brief moment. "I am sorry that me and your mother didn't raise you. We loved you, even for the brief amount of time we spent with you. You were the best thing that happened to us, and we had 8000 years of memories to pick from. I remember the day you were born, you were such a small thing, with the most beautiful little face. The first thing you did was reach up and pat your mothers cheek." Loki smiled slightly at the memory. "You laughed then, and it is still the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. It was like the sweetest music you could ever imagine."
It was then that I realised that my cheeks were wet, and it took me a moment to figure out that I had began to cry.
"Then why did you leave me? If I meant so much to you? WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME HERE?" I yelled,my throat tight. I wiped angrily at the tears, annoyed that he had made me so emotional.
"I never wanted to leave you! It was the worst day of my life, the day I lost you." He said in a small voice.
"Please. If you care about me at all, please stop this. I don't want anything to happen to you, but if you keep this up, the Avengers will win. We will beat you, and god knows what will happen to you if Thor takes you back to Asguard. Just stop this. Please, father."
Loki widened his eyes, and opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Thor landing on the walkway where I had a few minutes previously.
"Loki!" He yelled, pointing at him threateningly with Mjolnir. "Turn off the Tesseract or I'll destroy it!"
Loki's face once again returned to devoid of all emotion apart from anger. "You can't. There is no stopping it. There is only the war!"
"So be it." Thor said, remorsefully.
Thor and my father rushed at each other. The sound of Mjolnir and the sceptre clashing together echoed around the air, along with the sounds of battle . As Loki fought Thor, he was unleashing thousands of years of pent up rage and jealousy, and Thor had no choice but to defend himself.
With one last look at my fighting relatives, I leaped off the walkway, and rejoined the battle on the ground.
A/N Aw, we got some Cass and Loki bonding time in there, which i'd meant to do for a while, but I couldn't find the right time. Also Thor is just flying about and ruining family reunions. It's even shorter than the other chapter, but I didn't think you could go from cute family moments to punching chitauri in the face. Ah well, the next part will hopefully be longer. This chapter was actually pretty cool to write, and I hope you enjoyed it! Stay awesome, and don't forget to vote, comment and spread the word about my book! Bye until next time ~ Masie xoxo
