London, England.Alex's P.O.V.
I take a glance at Ember, she is fidgeting again. I've been worried about her ever since we had to run from New York City. She is constantly checking over her shoulder, making sure we aren't being followed. She had become overly paranoid.
"You okay?" I ask her. She turns to look at me angrily. If looks could kill... She rolls her eyes and turns around again, ignoring me before patting Ghost on the head.
Don't ask me how we've managed to travel across seas with a dog, I can't answer that myself. Ember is the one who makes her point very clear to everybody who objects.
Her hair is now a pale blond, cut to just above her shoulders and straightened. She's wearing coloured contact lenses and makeup to hide more of her recognisable features. We have both taken to changing our disguises about once a week, along with our location.
We are constantly moving from city to city, country to country. We both know that if we stay in one place too long that agency, whoever they are, will catch up with us.
Once again, Ember checks over her shoulder, she's going to get us caught just by looking suspicious. Those glances can draw a lot of attention. I put a hand on her arm and drag her into a small motel. "This is as good a place as any, we need to get some rest." She nods at me and we book a room for the night.
Motels like this are not my favourite place to stay. There is dirt everywhere and the whole place smells. But they are the really cheap ones and we need cheap. Plus, they allow animals.
The room is small and covered in layers of grime and dirt, not the worst we've had but certainly not the best. There is only one bed but we take turns sleeping amy so that one of us can always monitor the security footage.
I open up my laptop and hack into the cameras across the building. As usual, I take first watch.
I learnt to hack when I was much younger and as a dare I made Tony Stark's whole system play the gummy bear song non-stop until he finally managed to deactivate it after about fifty hours. I had to lie low after that to avoid a very annoyed Iron Man.
Despite Ember's constant checking behind her, I don't blame her for being so cautious. Who could after the incident in Amsterdam.

Ember lies down on one of the twin beds. "Don't bother with the cameras tonight. They're all on individual systems, it will take too long to sort out." I nod and lie on the other bed.
We had both had a difficult day running down streets and neither of us had the energy to stay up for an additional four hours.
Staring up at the ceiling I let myself drift into unconsciousness. Dreams fill my head and I'm too tired for my instincts to work properly.
