A person was once involved in an accident in which his eyelids got cut. One eye had an eyelid but the other didn't. In a few days the wound healed. However after two or three hours, dirt particles entering the eye blurred his vision.
The doctor explained that inside the eye there is a delicate balance between the liquids that the eye produces and the draining away of this fluids. The eyelid serves as a cover protecting the eye from dirt, grit and millions of dust mites in the air therefore, maintaining this balance.
Since the eye does not have this cover now it is prone to attract dust mites upsetting this balance and causing red, sore and itchy eyes. Thus he ended up washing his eye after every two or three hours.
When a person leaves his hands in water for a long time, then his skin becomes rough to touch. Similarly, when this man continued to wash his eyes every two hours the skin around the eye became inflamed and sore.
Thus one day out of desperation, he cried and begged the doctors to find a solution to this problem. Whereby, the doctors explained to him again the importance of the eyelid, which serves as a wiper cleaning the screen of the eye every now and then keeping it clean. Every moment of our life as we eat, drink, talk and walk, our eyes are blinking without us realising.
MORAL;. This story should be a real eye opener for all of us who take all of Allah's bounties for granted. Never once do we stop to think what we would do if our eyes stopped to blink, or our vision was affected. Now is the time to ponder and thank Allah for His numerous bounties. Oh Allah! The blinking of the eye is such a great bounty of yours; we thank three for it and for it and all the other bounties as well.

From the quotes of Mahbubul-ulama was sulaha shaikh Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi D.B.Hazrat Rabia Baria, a pious servant of Allah used to say,
"Oh mankind, Your teeth have fallen out chewing Allah's
Bounties yet your tongue has not frayed in praising him!"
