(After one week from the day they got report)
It was around 4pm when Mehul returned home from his work. Usually he came home after 5 o'clock, but today he was early. After parking his car he rings the door bell.
The mahogany color big door is opened by 'Sheetal', a lady of 22 years who was also their maid.
"Arey...Bhaiya! You came early today" Sheetal greets him with a smile, stepping aside giving way to Mehul.
"Yes, there wasn't much work today" he replies with a small smile advancing into the house.
"wait a minute" Sheetal said and made her way to the kitchen.
Mehul looks around drawing room and hallway for Vidhi, but he couldn't locate her. 'May be she's inside our room' he thinks and settles himself in a couch and starts removing his socks. Soon Sheetal re-appears holding a glass of water.
"Have this "She says offering it to Mehul.
"Thank You" Mehul says gratefully taking the glass from her hand and drinks the water.
"Do you know where Vidhi is?" he asks giving her back the now empty glass.
"Umm...She was in terrace" answers the maid after a moment.
"Oh! Ok" Mehul says while getting up from the couch.
"Do you need anything else Bhaiya?" Sheetal enquires politely.
"No...no I don't need anything, you can go and do your work" he replies warmly.
"Okay" she says and makes her way towards the kitchen.
Up the stairs Mehul went, directly onto the terrace. It was big and well designed. Ceramic tiles were fitted on the floor, many flowering shrubs were planted in flowerpots arranged beautifully. Wind was blowing slowly and weather was pleasant.
Mehul found Vidhi sitting on the big swing which was situated in the middle of the terrace. She was looking at something in distance with a faraway look in her eyes.
Vidhi was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't hear Mehul footsteps nearing her.
"Vidhi" he calls her gently. Getting no response from her he knew she hadn't heard him.
"Vidhi..." he again calls her name placing his hand on her shoulder.
Vidhi gets startled a bit, turning her head towards her left she finds her husband standing there. "Mehul!" she exclaims "Sorry I didn't heard you coming, is it 5 o'clock already?" Vidhi asks the last part doubtfully in a whisper.
"No, it's just 4:15, there wasn't much work today so came early" he tells her.
"Oh! Good" was the only response he got. Mehul sits beside her and takes her hand in his and gives a gentle squeeze.
"I was thinking as I'm early today lets go outside somewhere, while returning we'll also have dinner in your favorite restaurant" he says smilingly looking at her intently.
"I don't want to go anywhere Mehul" she replies in a dull voice.
Mehul knew it wasn't going to be that easy to convince her, nevertheless he tries again "Come on Vidhi I don't even remember last time we went somewhere together. All day you're cooped up in the house...let's go you'll feel good too" he tries to persuade her while rubbing circles on back of her palm.
