Katelyn walked down the stairs as she was told to do so. "Yes, Mom, you wanted to talk to me?"
"Yes...dear." Katelyns mom starts to tear up.
"Mom, are you okay?"
"I'm sorry, I should've told you earlier."
"Told me what? You can tell me anything, remember our promise?"
"I'm so sorry, I've broken that promise."
"Mom, please don't cry. Just tell me."
"..Katelyn, dear...forgive me...I should've told you before."
"Just please tell me, Mom."
"...You don't have to call me that..."
"Why?"
"Lets just get this over with...*sighs*y-you're a-adopted...."
"What!? Why didn't you tell me earlier!?"
"I'm so sorry...I knew you would be mad. I wasn't allowed to tell you until this age."
"Don't talk to me!" Katelyn runs up to her room and slams the door, not even paying attention to what she said.
Once it drew near to midnight, Katelyn grabbed her suitcase and grabbed the note she wrote:
Dear 'Mom',
I know you are probably worried about me, but I will be fine. I want to find my real mom, so I'm leaving. You'll probably be upset with me, but don't , please. I can handle myself, by myself. I don't need anyone to guide me anymore. Don't even think about going after me, It will be too late. By the time you read this, I'll already be gone. Even if I don't find her, I won't stop searching. Goodbye.
Love, Katelyn.
Then she set it on her mothers desk, and set off into the night.

"Oh, Kate you're mumbling to yourself again."
"No I'm not! I'm just thinking."
"If you don't hurry, we will be late for the first day of school!"
"I don't care, I want to think."
"C'mon, It'll be fun! Imagine all the new people!" My friend, Violet, pulls me up in an instant. It's like she's using magic.
"...I'm not going."
"But, you have to."
"I just want to be left alone."
Violet pauses. "You don't always get what you want."
"Oh, fine. What's the harm in going."
"Now that's the spirit."
On the way to school, I think about how I am still searching for my real mom. "What if I never find her?"
"Who?"
"Oh? I said that out loud?"
"Yeah, is there something you want to talk about? I'm here to help, Kate."
"It's personal."
"You know you can tell me anything, right?"
"...Well...do you promise not to tell anyone?" I whisper to Violet.
"Promise."
"Well, when I was younger–the day after I turned 12 years old. My mom told me that I was adopted. I was so upset and angry, that I ran away to find my real mom. That's when I found you-we became best friends and it's been this way for 4 years...I just never wanted to tell you what my wish is: To find my real mom." When I told this to Violet, her eyes got really big-like this lit up an old memory in her mind.
"Oh." Is all she said.
"You wouldn't understand."
"I know more than you thin-"
"Hey, ladies. Nice seeing you going back to the same school." A boy with strawberry blonde hair, and bright blue eyes interrupts us.
"Hey, Harry, do you mind? We're talking." Violet says in a sweet tone.
"Nope, was just passing by." He says, and walks past us to catch up with his friends.
"Bye, see ya later at school." Violet yells to him and grins.
"See ya."
Violet likes him-She's had a crush on him since ninth grade. The freshman year.
"He's so nice!" Violet smiles. I role my eyes.
"What were we talking about?"
*I laugh* "Let's just get to school."
~At school~
"What's your first class?"
"Uh...Algebra. Yours?" Violet scans our schedules.
"Physical Education."
RING! RING!
"That's the bell." Violet looks up and searches for the bell.
"Darn. Well bye." I hug her.
"See ya later!" Violet waves and runs off.
~Physical Education~
"Ugh, I hate this class." I say, as I change into my PE uniform.
After I dress, I head into the gym. I see people talking everywhere.
"Everybody line up! I'm gonna take attendance!" The teacher blows her whistle.
"Katelyn Bloomfield!" The kid next to me widens his eyes as he hears my name.
"Here." He then looks at me. I roll my eyes.
After like 10 other names, she says, "Zachary King!"
"Yeah?" The kid next to me says, as he looks away from me.
After all the names are called she yells, "Alright, pick a partner of the opposite gender!"
Almost all the boys rush over to me-knew it. I see Zachary first, so I pick him. All the other boys sigh or give Zachary a glare.
"Hey." He says as we start warm-ups.
"Hi." I say back in an annoyed tone.
"Ooh, feisty."
"Shut up and just let me get this class over with."
"Call me Zach." He completely ignores what I say.
"Ok, Zach." I say, and turn away.
"Do you like Greek Gods?"
"No." I respond back.
"Hmm..." He says and gets back to work.
A/N:
I hope you enjoyed the first chapter. Anyway....
Who do you think Katelyns godly parent is?
Why do you think people keep looking at her funny? Do they know something she doesn't?
Make sure to comment, vote, and I'll see you next time. <3 :)
