Her feet stepped symmetrically in a light rhythm as Lola walked down the clear pathway. She was trying to avoid walking to fast, but didn’t want to dawdle. She was a little nervous, but a small part of her was excited too.
Zayn had asked Lola to meet him at the park. He still seemed to be interested much to Lola’s suprise. She was sure that by now he would have blown her off, or decided she was too boring and inexperienced to fufill his desires. There was something about Zayn that excited her, but also intimdated her at the same time. He had a smoky mysterious, care-free aura that she found intriguing, however she wasn’t 100% sure if they were having the same mutual feelings for one another. Not just yet anyway.
“Hey babe” Zayn greeted her casually, giving her a hug.
“Hey yourself, where did this come from?” she asked in suprise at the new ink decorating his collarbone. Zayn got his first tattoo after he turned sixteen, and in the year and a half that had past, he’d lost any hesitance about staining his body with more. They say once you’ve got one, you can’t stop. It seemed that was turning out to be Zayn’s case.
“Ah got it Friday, what do you think?” he asked, tugging gently on his loose t-shirt to reveal the whole tattoo. Lola inspected the smooth black ink saturated in permenant scribe against his olive skin. It appeared to be some kind of arabic writing. She had always liked the look of black tattoos, not coloured ones. She loved how creative people could be with their tattoos, and saw it as a form of art and self expression.
Although she had none herself due to simply being scared and cautious of regretting it, Lola still hoped she could get a little one herself one day. Just a small one, there as a symbol of something special.
“I like it…..didn’t it hurt?”
“It’s a little scratch, nothing too bad. You should get one and see” he joked, unaware of the fact that she wanted to get a small one.
“Hmm…maybe”
“What, you actually want one?”
“Well…..kinda? I dunno, I always thought about it but i’m too much of a wimp”
“Ah there’s nothing to be scared about if it’s the pain, if you decide you wanna get one, let me know and i’ll come with you. I might even get another myself” he joked
“Oh yeah, like you need any more”
“I’ve not even started yet Lola” he laughed and an image of a fully tattoo covered Zayn entered her mind. Bordering on unattractive for the first time. But she imagined he would look hot with a sleeve.
“So would you get a sleeve?”
“Yeah that’s what I want next. My left arm. My Mum doesn’t approve of it though, she think it’s too much” he laughed, shaking his hand through his soft jet black hair
“Yeah yeah I think it is on some, but it suits others, so you’re definitely one of the people it would look hot on”
Lola pressed her lips tightly together for letting that slip out her mouth, feeling slightly awkward. She felt her cheeks turn pink slowly and saw a smirk tugging at Zayn’s lips from the corner of her eye.
After a longer chat, a further walk and laughs when she almost falling into the river stream as they jumped across, Lola felt her shoes begin to rub. The skin of her toes was getting sore and she decided she needed to give them a rest.
“Let’s sit here for a second, my feet are killing me in these shoes” Lola said, wriggling her feet a little as she sat down on a park bench.
She tucked the ends of her skinny jeans into the back of her shoes to avoid them rubbing even more. She could feel a blister forming and knew walking home would be a challenge.
