While the farm was extremely beautiful and had a magnificent view of the surrounding mountainous landscape, it really didn't hold Eleanor's attention for long. From the moment she had seen the horses, her mind was focused on them and them alone. It seemed all she wanted to do was just sit and pet the horses, but the man had brought her out on a full tour, showing her every nook and cranny of the barn and so on.
Fred watched the look on her face in amusement as Eleanor tried to remain polite with the tour guide but he could see her patience dwindling slowly.
He walked over to her as the man went on, and wrapped his arm around her shoulders pulling her into his side.
"How are you holding out there?" he asked her.
"I just...I just want to touch the horses. That's all." Eleanor whispered to him. "I think the history behind the farm and all this is wonderful, and interesting..but.."
"But?"
"I just want to touch the bloody damn horses!" she growled. Suddenly, she clapped her hand over her mouth with a slight squeak as the man turned around to face them.
He only smiled. "Follow me." he said.
"Ooooh, you've done it now, Ellie." Fred teased her.
Fortunately, it seemed the man understood what Eleanor wanted and finally allowed her to pet the Icelandic ponies. He even allowed her to give them several treats.
Fred leaned against one of the fences and watched as Eleanor seemed to be in her happy place as the scratched one of the horses behind the ears.
"Well don't just stand there, come join me!" she said motioning him over.
He walked over to the sorrel fluffy horse that resembled a tiny woolly mammoth.
"Isn't he just the cutest?" Eleanor said.
"I remember a time where I used to be called that." Fred sniffed. "Now my title has gone to another red head."
Eleanor giggled. "Well, you're still my favorite red head."
"I should hope so!"
"But this little one comes in close second." she said.
"I'm telling George you said that and you know how heartbroken he's going to be."
Eleanor never seemed to get enough of the horses, but eventually she forced herself to move away from them as there was still a lot for the two to explore.
"You know, we're never going to get to see everything at this rate." Eleanor said. "That's mostly my fault."
"Considering we spent three hours petting horses-"
"One hour petting horses, two listening to the wonderful history of the farm." she corrected him.
"Still, three hours at the farm. What is it that you want to do next?"
"I don't know. You're supposed to choose the next activity." she said.
Fred grinned. "Oh I do, do I?"
"Fred."
"No, no. You said I get to choose."
"Yes but.."
"Come along, love. It's my turn."
"But-"
"Fred Weasley, you have truly outdone yourself." Eleanor chuckled. "I definitely wasn't expecting this."
"What did you think I had planned for our next activity?"
"Well..I.."
Fred gasped. "Eleanor..shame on you..besides, didn't you get enough of me last night?"
Eleanor had been pleasantly surprised when Fred didn't end up bringing her back to the hotel, but instead they found themselves enjoying the wonders that were the hot springs.
She splashed at him playfully before submerging herself up until the water reached her chin.
"Merlin, this feels amazing.
"So I did good, yeah?" Fred said moving through the water and resting beside her.
"You did great." she said closing her eyes and leaning her head on his shoulder. "How did you find out about this place?"
"Well, while you were busy petting horses, I spoke with a couple of the locals in hopes of figuring out what we could do while we were here. They told me that if we didn't experience a hot pool before we left, we would regret it."
"I would have certainly regretted missing out on something like this. My body feels so good right now."
"Easy now, I don't want to have to get jealous over some water. Anyways, I was told by the locals that this water is also pretty good for our skin because of the minerals. So we get to relax and be fabulous at the same time. It's a win-win situation for us."
"You never cease to amaze me." she said.
"Good. Because the day you find me boring, is the day I'll have to start worrying."
"Fred, I don't think I could ever find you boring, even while you're sleeping you're pretty entertaining. The things you say-"
Fred glanced down at her. "What?"
Eleanor met his eyes. "What?"
"I do not talk in my sleep." Fred said.
"Oh yes you do! You say a great deal in your sleep."
"I do not!"
"Yes you do. It's mostly business stuff though, so don't worry, but you do talk in your sleep. Just ask George."
Fred made a face making her laugh.
"Oh stop with the faces, it's not a big deal. I think it's rather cute that you talk in your sleep." she told him. "Although some of things you say make me question a great deal about what goes on in that head of yours."
"It can be a scary place." he said proudly.
"I'm sure."
"So, how are you going to top this with the next activity?"
"You'll see."
