"Well..do you have anything to say for yourself?! Hmm?"
Eleanor pressed her lips together as she tried her best to hold back a smile and laughter as Fred looked down at her. She sat on the edge of the hotel bed while he stood in front of her with his hands resting on his hips.
Unfortunately, while Eleanor had found the kayaking trip a lot of fun, Fred wasn't so fortunate as the fair skinned redhead neglected to put on any sunscreen, resulting in a major sunburn. Currently as he stood in front of Eleanor, he was red in the face and all over his arms and shoulders, matching his hair perfectly.
"I didn't know that you were going to get sunburn, Fred. How could I have known? I figured you would have known to put sunscreen on."
"The sun hardly shines where we live so excuse me for neglecting it."
"I'm still not sure how this is my fault."
"Because someone had to go kayaking...the muggle way." he said with a grimaced as his skin began to sting at his movement.
"Yes, and the muggle way would have been to put sunscreen on, Fred. But you know, rather than whining about it..you could let me heal you to the best of my abilities." she stood up and went to touch his arm but he jerked away.
"No don't touch it! It hurts."
"Well of course it hurts, you got burned, you dingbat."
Fred made a face at her.
"I'm sorry that was the last bat joke, I swear my life on it!"
"You lie!"
"Maybe." she grinned before going for her wand.
She was rummaging through her bag when she heard a tap coming from the glass door on the balcony. She squinted her eyes in the direction before she saw an owl hopping about on the railing.
"Fred.." she said. She could hear him mumbling to himself about his skin peeling in irritation.
"Fred stop touching yourself!"
"I'll touch myself as I please,woman!"
The two glanced over in each other's direction in silence at Fred's statement.
"Alright, so that happened.." Eleanor said and then proceeded to slide open the door and step onto the balcony. "Hey it's from Dad!"
Allowing the owl to enter the room to rest for a bit, Eleanor reentered the room with an envelope in hand.
"What does it say?" Fred asked as she opened.
"It says, Dear Fred, stop complaining about your sunburn. Love your father-in-law." Eleanor teased.
"If you had this sunburn you would understand my pain."
"If you would let me heal you, I wouldn't have to understand your pain because you wouldn't be experiencing it."
He folded his arms but let out a slight whimper as Eleanor brushed up against his arm as she sat next to him on the bed.
She quickly scanned the letter before she looked up with a shocked expression.
"What?!" Fred looked at her worried. When she didn't answer, he took the letter from her. "Ellie, you can't make these faces and not saying anything.." he scolded her as he read. "It just...Merlin!"
He turned to look at her.
"I know! That's what was running through my mind too!" Eleanor said.
"But now I'm so excited!" she exclaimed as she began to jump up and down on the bed. "Nixie and Sirius are going to be parents, how cute is that?"
"How could Sirius father a child when he is a child?" Fred pondered out loud.
"Do I have to explain the process to you?" she grinned in his direction.
"No, I have a pretty good grasp on the concept, I can just see their kid now. A mermaid/merman marauder."
The two sat quietly for a moment thinking over Fred's words.
"Well, Nixie is certainly going to have her hands full with that." Eleanor remarked. "Then again, she's just as childish sometimes as Sirius. That child is probably just going to be just like them. It's really sweet now that you think of it. I'm sure they probably wanted to start a family earlier, but the First Wizarding war happened, and it left them apart for twelve years and then when they finally are reunited, it's pretty much the start of the Second Wizarding War. I think this is all a good sign, we got married, Sirius and Nixie are expecting, along with Marnie and Cedric, I think it's a sign that we can all finally relax now. All the crazed nonsense is over."
She smiled to herself before pulling Fred into a hug only making him cry out in pain.
"Oops, sorry, I forgot!"
