Moala's POV
The next morning, my family and I went to church, as we usually do on Sundays. I texted Mo a couple times, but no reply. After church ended, I checked again and still no reply. I got a little worried and I didn't understand what was going on.
Brain- What did I say! You should listen to your brain more Mo.
Heart- Stop making her nervous! Maybe he's just sleeping or mad.
Brain- Sleeping? For almost half of the day? Moala should be mad at him, think about it. He walked out on you, he overreacted, and he's avoiding you.
Heart- Good point, but he stood up for her for a reason. He cares about how people treat her.
My brain is telling me the logical thing to do, and my heart keeps reminding me about my feeling and emotions. I was tired and wanted to keep my mind off of things. Tomorrow is Monday and I'm not looking forward to it."Hurry up Moala! We gotta go!" My dad yells at me.
I woke up late, was having cramps, and wasn't in the best mood. We managed to get to school right as we were starting the pledge. I was trying to fix my lopsided bun while Richard was giving announcements, and Mo caught my eye. He had his glasses on and he like such dork, a cute one.
"Okay, go to class now." Richard announced. I got up and went to class but was stopped by CJ.
"Hey.." He said.
"I'm not really in the mood dude." I replied with a bit of attitude.
"Just, I'm sorry. I crossed the line and I never should've went there." He apologized.
"Nah, your good. I just wanted to hear you say that." I said with a little chuckle.
"Alright, we good?" He asks holding his hand out for a high five.
"Yep, we good." I said returning his high five.
The rest of the day went to be a pretty one. Rachie and the other girls helped me get my mind off things.
Time for practice, but all throughout practice, I felt Mo stare. It wasn't a good, flirting stare, it was like a dirty look. Why was he looking at me like that? Its not like I really did anything. I was completely irritated with him. The entire practice I felt his eyes glaring through me. Finally, dance was over and at dinner, but his glare was still on me. I felt attacked by his eyes. He made feel like guilty for what happened at the dance. I had enough of his death stares, so I got up and left the cafeteria. I hear someone following me the front. I glanced back and realized that it was Mo.
"Hey."
"Hey!" Mo raised his voice.
"WHAT!" I replied back, as we were walking down the hall way.
"Why you acting like that, is it that time of the month?" Moroni asked. We were now in the foyer and I turned around annoyed by his comment.
"Why am I acting like this? Why are YOU acting like that? Why did you just blow up like that on Saturday? What the hell was that all about? And why the hell are you ingoring me and giving me that stink eye? I was just checking if you were alright, but then you just look at me like that! Man!! And yes, it's shark week! Uggh!" I shouted at him.
"Because." He said avoiding eye contact with me.
"Because, because what?! Because you were jealous?" I said to him.
"I'm just frustrated and confused-?" I added in, but was cut off.
"Because I like you! Because I wasn't your date to the dance! Because he was dancing with you! BECAUSE!" he yelled.
"You don't even know! Damn!" He added.
"I'm over this." He said throwing his hands up in frustration.
"THEN GO! LEAVE!" I yelled back. Everyone's eyes were glued to our agument because of the scene we made.
"Just go! Take what you need and go!" I exclaimed.
Moroni walked forward scooped me up onto his shoulder like it was nothing, and walked away. Why did he have to do that? We're in the middle of a fight and he decides to pull a move like that? I asked myself several times. He placed me in his car and drove off.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked with a pouty attitude.
"I'm helping you tame those sharks with some ice cream." He replied
"You drive me crazy." He added.Moroni's POV
My family and I went to church the next morning. It was the rugular old drill. Church, restaurant, home. I had gotten some text messages from Mo. I was angry that she let me think that CJ and her were together. I did so much for her! I bought her food, and I treated better than CJ ever will. I was irritated by everything. I got home and got a call from CJ. I didn't want to talk to him at all. He called again, but I refuse to talk to that date stealing guy. Peter called, I decided that was someone I can tall to.
"Hey man." He started.
"Was up dude?" I replied.
"So how's everything CJ and your girl?" He asked.
"I don't even know dude." I replied.
"I feel like I've been played."
"I think you should talk to CJ... And Mo." Peter said.
"Really? I don't wanna listen to their excuses." I asserted.
"Just talk to them, your not gonna figure things out if you just give them the silent treatment. Stop throwing a tantrum bruh." He said back.
"I gotta go, so I'll see you tomorrow." Peter added in and then hung up. He sounded like he was mad, but why was he mad? I'm the person who was foolish enough to let Mo go to the dance with CJ. My phone buzzed, I looked down and saw that was CJ.
"Let's talk dude." It read.
I didn't answer. I need to get my mind off of things and talking to them wasn't going to help with that.I arrived at school pretty early, so I just hung out. I was sitting at a lunch table alone eating my breakfast peacefully, when someone approached my table. I glanced up, it was CJ.
"Hey man. Look I'm sorry about Saturday. I was out of line, and I should've asked you before." He admitted.
"Seriously?" I asked raising my eyebrows.
"Yeah man, I'm for reals! Truce?" CJ said holding his hand out for a shake.
"We good." I said shaking his hand. He sat down across from me and said
"So hows it with Moala?" He asked.
"I don't know." I replied
"Look man, you need yo set things straight with her. You and me both know she's special, so if you let her go she's probably gonna end up with a player that don't know how to treat her." He declared.
"What, like you?" I said with a smile.
"Hey! That was one night, besides I was a little drunk." He said laughing.
"Oka! CJ man!" I laughed.
"Shhh!" He laughed.
The day went on and everyone was on good terms with everyone, except Moala and I. Practiced rolled around, and we still weren't talking. I thought about what CJ was saying. He was right, I need to make this good again.
After dinner, I walked to her as she was walking down the hall.
"Hey."
"Hey!" I raised my voice thinking that she didn't hear me.
"WHAT!" She replied, she was obviously angry with me.
"Why you acting like that? Is it that time of the month?" I said trying to tease her a little. She turned around facing me yelled,
"Why am I acting like this? Why are YOU acting like that? Why did you just blow up like that on Saturday? What the hell was that all about? And why the hell you ignoring me and giving me the stink eye! I'm just checking if you were alright, but then you just look at me like that! Man! And yes, it's shark week! Uggh!"
"Because." My voice was much quieter now, because I knew she was right.
"Because, because what!? Because you were jealous!?" She shouted. She knew exactly where yo hit the spot.
"Because I like you! Because I wasn't your date to the dance! Because he was dancing with you! BECAUSE!" I shouted. I didn't want to admit that I was jealous.
"You don't even know! Damn!" I noticed everyone staring at us like they were watching a movie.
"I'm over this!" I said throwing my hands up and stepped back
"THEN LEAVE! GO!" She yelled.
"Just go take what you need and go!" She added.
I walked over to her quickly and picked her up so that she was hanging of my shoulder. I followed her directions, took what I needed and left. She had a mad look and I could feel her elbow poking my back. I carefully put her in the passenger seat of my car and and drove away.
"Where are you taking me?" She said with her arms crossed and a slight grin. She looks cute when she's mad. I know her stomach cramps are probably giving her a hard time, and I haven't been the most supportive person in the world for her lately.
"I'm helping you tame those sharks with some ice cream." I replied as I rubbed her thigh.
"You drive me crazy." I smiled and turned up the music.
I looked over to her as leaned in and kissed my check.
"I accept your half-ass apology." She smiled and started singing to the music.
