The Shy Slytherin

I remember my first day at Hogwarts quite vividly. It was, after all, the best and worst day of my life. Worst because I was quite upset and best because, it lead to something great. Lets go back to the beginning.

It was September 1st, 2009, and I was a nervous wreak. After saying goodbye to my sister I jumped onto the Hogwarts express and found an empty compartment. I was struggling to put my trunk up onto the rack when a boy with blue hair whom looked about my age peaked in, he stepped in and helped my raise my trunk onto the rack. I turned to face him and let my hair cover my face mumbling a quick thanksgiving as I sat down. He went to go out of the compartment but before he could I surprised myself by shouting, well talking, but it was loud to me as I normally whisper.

"Umm... Do you want to sit here, I looked and this is the only empty compartment I found... But you don't have to if you have friends saving a compartment for you, but if you want to you can..." I trailed off blushing bright red as he started laughing.

"Your shy aren't you?" He asked then nodded as I turned an even brighter shade of red. I probably looked, to quote one of my favorite books, 'Slow, dumb, and bright red.' He shoved his trunk up on the rack with mine and sat down. "I hope you don't mind some people stopping in, my friends are kind of crazy. I'm Teddy, by the way, Teddy Lupin." He smiled at me kindly as I responded.

"Phoenix Black. Um... What's your blood status." I said than started rambling, "not that it matters I'm just curious its not like blood purity matters..."

"I'm pure. What about you?"

"Mugg-" I started but I was cut off by someone rushing into the compartment.

"Hey Teddy! How's it going!" A boy with brown hair said coming into the compartment. (Not any of the other sec gens because none of them were born the same year as Teddy so yeah)

"Hey Cain (aka my OC), Phoenix, meet Cain, Cain this is Phoenix." I waved slightly as he smiled at me, he then turned and hoisted his trunk up onto the rack before plopping down next to me.

The rest of the train ride was spent with us all chatting. I learnt that Teddy's parents were dead, and that while his mother was In Hufflepuff his father was in Gryffindor. Cain was a half-blood, his mother was in Gryffindor while his father was a muggle. We soon arrived to the station.

"Firs Years! Firs Years over here!" I heard someone yelling so I grabbed the boys arms and dragged them over to the, very tall man looked about 7 foot tall and had a kind twinkle to his eyes. "Ello, Firs years? He asked us and the three of us nodded. "Well come on en, four to a boat." (Sorry, I forget how he talks.) We walked over and climbed into a boat and started talking.

"Umm... Hi, could I sit with you guys, the only other open spots have mean people in them, and I really don't want to sit with them." A young girl said. She had blond hair and blue eyes. I'm Lorcan, Lorcan Scamander. Over there's my twin Lysander. He's sitting with some of his friends." She pointed over to a boy whom looked like her with his blond hair and sky blue eyes. We quickly invited her to sit with us. We learned that her mother was Luna Scamander, a friend of Teddy's cousin, Harry Potter. (I'm calling them Cousins because Teddy's the son of Lupin, who was pretty much a brother to James so they would be cousins if the two were actually related) A few minuets into the boat ride we heart gasps and turned our heads up to where people were looking.

"Oh my gods." Cain said voicing my thoughts. "It's amazing." The rest of us nodded in agreement. We got off the boats and stood in silence as the giant, Hagrid Teddy had said, knocked on a giant oak door. A kind looking man opened the door and gestured us in.

"Hello my name is Professor Longbottom and I'm the herbology teacher here. You will wait here until it is time for the sorting and then I will come and get you. You will have a hat placed upon your head and it will talk. Just so that you know. Please know that the hat takes the house you want into consideration as long as you ask. I will be back to you shortly.: He then turned and walked back into the great hall. My little group of four looked at each other nervously. It wasn't even five minuets before Professor Longbottom walked back into the room.
