Chance fell asleep in the chair that night, next to Sara's bed. Sara, unable to sleep, watched him guiltily, leaning over and sliding the note into his jacket, which he had laid over her when she had said she was 'cold'. She knew she wasn't going to have another chance, so she quickly slid it in and smoothed it out, then returned her attention to Chance. His slow breathing soothed her, his chest smoothly rising and falling calming. She found her own breathing rate starting to fall, and she was getting sleepier and sleepier as she watched. His mouth was slightly agape, and a snore rattled his face every few breaths.

Sara fell asleep smiling.
