"Dead. Thats all I can feel," the young girl started as she began to write in her journal. "The pain is unbearable, I hate it, my conscience, whom convinces me that I'm nothing more than a worthless soul in a lump of skin and bones. Sometimes I believe it as I begin to doubt myself. Whether I'm meant to be, or not to be here, in this world, this time of the earth"s realm. When I'm in my mind I begin to dream, I begin to dream of a better time of day and century of life where the world never gets dark and all is good and well, then I awake and realize it is only a useless, unrealistic dream that may never happen." She finishes the writing and closes it, keeping up with the page with a bookmark that states, 'All is good, except when it's gone'. She then got up and brushed her raven black hair out her light, powdery blue irises, along with her pale skin, almost white as snow but her lips as red as the beautiful flower which represented the wonderful sensation of love but her set of roses have been slowly wilting, dying slowly by the time of the year. She began to walk out of her small room, whose walls are painted with band posters, and as she walked down the stained brown wooden staircase into the kitchen, She heard her mother call her name, "Luna! Get in here you lovely young lady!" Her mother lovingly called towards her. Luna Cummings, the young sixteen year old, had a wonderful loving family, if you could even call it that. It was really just her, her mother, and her older brother living in the large two story house in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland. She and her brother went to an amazing high school called Baltimore High School For The Arts. They were both extremely artistic, unlike both of their parents. Her brother, Jake, was the sculptor of the family while Luna was better at the more abstract art, she had loved to draw since she could remember. Her biggest secret was that she had a crush on the school's most popular guy you could meet, he was just like her, but male. She would never tell anyone anything about herself but her dear journal, which has encased her feelings for the past seven years. At first she had written happy and childish things in the small leather book, such as, "I wish I could have a pony, The end." which was the second entry in the small book. She was nine years old after all. But anyways, back to reality, no more swimming around inside this crazy mind of her's, as she had taken a few unneeded and worrying moments to respond to her mother, "Luna? Are you okay over there?" Jake said breaking the semi-awkward silence that was suffocating the three of them in their small kitchen. "Yeah? Yeah, sorry I was just lost in my thoughts and yeah, sorry." she replied laughing slightly at her mother and brother. "Would you like anything to eat before you go?" Her mother asked lovingly, looking at Luna's crystal blue eyes with her own. "No Mom, I'm fine, thanks." she replied quietly. Jake then whispered across the table quietly, "You don't want to spend to much time in your head, it'll start to kill you from the inside out." she then nodded mumbling, "It already is." luckily no one heard it and they went off for school after Luna changed into her black Green Day shirt and her black skinny jeans, sliding on her classic black and white Vans. As soon as they walked out the door, the alarm on her phone went off signaling the time to leave. "Lets hit the road L." "Alright J." They had called each other by their first initials since they were little and when they did, it made Luna feel as if she was part of something special. She shyly smiled and continued walking next to her brother. "So do you have a girlfriend yet?" she asked him, curiously. "No. Why?" he answered quickly. "Just asking. Any," she paused "boyfriends?" she asked and his face got as red as a tomato and he began to smile. "Who is he?" she asked giddily. "He's not my boyfriend. Yet." she looked at him urging for him to continue, "It's Tony. Tony Rivera." Luna then began to silently fangirl as they started to arrive at their school. "Ugh, time for hell." she said dreadfully.
She slowly walked into her first class, which she only liked because her best friend Karma was in it and they could talk about everything under the sun and not even get glanced at which was cool, sometimes, other times she would just wish that someone besides her brother, her mom and her best friend would look at her, but no one did, ever. As she walked into the classroom she automatically spotted her other half, as it was what she and Karma both called each other. Another thing she spotted was her long fully, carried about, crush, Asher Johnson. She had seen him almost instantly as if they were the only ones in the room. Asher was almost impossible to miss because he had the most amazing, beautiful, black hair that went to about his shoulders and covered his one of his eyes, which were the most beautiful shade of blue that is almost as blue as the sky itself. She would look at him and get lost in his eyes as if she were a ship and his eyes were the sea and the great tide was pulling her under making her sink down to the bottom, ergo, his soul, the way he felt, him as a whole, human being. As soon as she had swam out the deep oceans that were his remarkable irises, she would notice his tan skin that was also pale at once, then she would move on to his perfect cherry lips that had two small black rings on the right side of them. Then she would notice his little bunny nose that was so close to a rabbit's nose that he could even wiggle it, along with that he also had a small silver hoop right in the middle of his nose, otherwise known as a septum piercing which he had gotten two years back when he was fifteen, yes Asher is seventeen and a sophomore, deal with it. When Luna had pulled herself out of his capturing trance she walked to the back of the room with Karma sitting down slowly, "Whats up with you and Mr. Cutie?" Karma quizzically looked at her best friend. "What do you mean, whats up with us?" Luna replied quite confused on what she meant. "I mean what was with the both of you staring at each other for like five minutes?" she stated as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "oh I was staring at him, he wasn't even glancing at me." Luna stated looking at her best friend quickly, "Yes he was," Karma started, "he was looking at you like you were made of gold." She finished looking at her friend as if to say 'obviously'. Luna blushed with a light shade of red appearing on the almost dead looking cheeks of hers. "Was he really?" she asked semi-excitedly. Karma just nodded and smiled at her lovestruck sister. Luna then smiled happily and genuinely for what seemed like the first time in forever. After Luna had finished the party in her mind she sat down in her seat next to Karma in the very back of the classroom which encased her for the next hour and a half while she learned about people who died but somehow made a difference in the world and lives of ordinary people. "So, are you going to tell me about what just happened?" Her friend questioned curiously. "I really have no idea." Luna replied as confused as the half-brainless girl next to her. She had ensconced herself and auscultated throughout the plenary class but one thought traipsed within her conscious and it was the idea of Asher actually looking at her, 'Why on earth would he look at me?' Luna thought as she doodled on her paper. Pondering and staring into blank space, she didn't notice that a small folded up note had found its way to her escritoire within the last five minutes. She looked up to see the small smile of pierced lips. 'Crap! It's Asher!' She thought as she noticed he was glowering down at her. Luna then gently looked up at him and flashed a small smile as he reached down and grabbed the note saying, "Sorry about that, my friends were just trying to embarrass me." She nodded and then she had enumerated what she was going to say to him, "What reason would they have for that?" Luna asked looking up at him flirtatiously. "Because they um, they know something about me that I'm not, I'm not embarrassed by it but, scared of how the person would react." He replied scratching the back of his neck nervously. Luna then reached up and quickly snatched the paper out of his hands, opening it quickly as he attempted grabbing it from her but realizing it was too late. Luna read slowly, as the note was sloppily written, but she could make out 'Asher Johnson and Luna Cummings sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g, first comes love then comes marriage then comes a baby in a baby carriage. By the way if you hadn't figured it out Asher likes you. A lot.' As she reached the end of the note she glanced towards Asher who was now blushing and smiling like an idiot. "Is-is this true?" Luna asked, stuttering a bit. Asher simply nodded shyly still looking down as he was before. Luna then leaned over the table and attempted kissing him on his cheek but when she went to, his lips brushed hers and suddenly they were met with an unexpected yet passionate kiss, they slowly closed their eyes as everything and everyone around them ceased to exist. When they pulled away they were met with each others eyes and gleaming smiles. "Well I guess this is just the beginning." Asher said winking and returning to his desk slowly, obviously still dazed. "I guess it is. Asher Johnson." Luna replied slyly knowing he couldn't hear her and sat down looking at her best friend whom was completely awestruck. "Hello? Earth to Karma?" She said waving a hand in the quiet ones face. "W-what just happened?" Karma asked slowly. "I just started something between me and Asher," Luna responded proudly, pausing a second, then realizing now what she had done that she didn't completely process when it happened. "Holy crap. I just started something between me and Asher."
