Trevor was woken up by the sweet smell of what might have been nectar. He licked his lips and savored its sweet taste. For a moment it tasted like hot chocolate—just like what his foster mother used to make during Christmas. It was his favorite drink. Then it started to taste like Pepsi, his favorite soda.

He sat up straight and rubbed his head, slowly opening his eyes. He found himself on a bed inside a room which looked like the ones he used to sleep in during summer camp.

He looked around. Other kids around his age were also in the room. Some were given nectar by those goat-men creatures. Others were being treated for their broken arms.

Seeing their smiles and hearing their laughs made Trevor wonder. Where exactly was he? Last thing he remembered was dreaming about being chased by a huge dog. In his dream he was helped by a girl named Alice.

"Feeling better?" said a familiar female voice.

He looked to his side and found the girl from his dream sitting on a chair beside his bed. She looked at Trevor with a smile on her face.

"Am I still dreaming?" Trevor said.

"Nah, you're awake now." said Alice.

Trevor slouched down and sighed. "So everything I thought I dreamed about were real?" he asked.

She replied, "Yep, every single one."

Their conversation was interrupeted by the sound of galloping. Trevor sat straight up at the sight of the horse-man from earlier.

"Sorry to have startled you from your arrival." the horse-man said. "I'd like to formally welcome you again to Camp Half-blood."

Trevor stared at the appearance of the horse-man, then looked up at his face.

"Chiron, was it?" he asked politely. The Chiron nodded. "I'm still having a hard time taking these things in."

Chiron replied, "Come young one, why don't we go for a walk?"

Alice left to join her comrades at Cabin 8, while Chiron and Trevor took a walk around Camp.

"Do you believe in gods, Trevor?" Chiron asked.

"Yeah, sure. The things they say in church really make me believe." Trevor replied.

Chiron shrugged and answered back, "That's true, the things they preach in church are really convincing. Although, that's not what I meant. Trevor do you believe in gods? Plural, with an 's'"

"Gods? As in like, Greek gods?" Trevor asked.

"Yes," Chiron confirmed. "and I'm asking if you believe in their existence."

"Well, to be honest, I don't." Trevor answered, "but I really think they're pretty cool! I mean, they can control nature and stuff."

Chiron chuckled, "I guess they are." he said. "Trevor, what if I told you that they do exist?"

"The gods? Hmm, I don't know. Its really hard to believe Even though I'm talking to a centaur right now." Trevor answered and laughed.

"Well, you better do. They do exist, Trevor. Everything you learned about Greek mythlogy in school—they're more than just myths. They're our history. The story of our kind!" Chiron said.

"You make it sound so believable." Trevor shrugged.

Chiron halted. "Trevor, you're a half-blood."

Trevor stopped too. "A half what?"

"A half-blood; a demigod! A son of a Greek god. You have more gifts than you can possibly think of, Trevor." said Chiron. "You're one of a kind."
