I stayed with Jason for the rest of the week. His mom was so kind to me, always making me breakfast and trying to make me laugh. His dad wasn't home much, which I didn't know why, but I didn't asking, knowing it wasn't my business.
Jason and I were walking to school when non other than Fred Clark, the most annoying know-it-alls that ever walked the earth, came up to me.
"Hi," he giggled. " This week we are having a weekly meeting for people who are having trouble in their lives. Would you like to come?"My eyes stung as I tried to hold back tears. Jason immediately noticed and put his arm around me and continued walking.
Fred ran after us and yelled, "Where are you going, you never ..."
"Leave us alone Fred," Jason hissed. Fred backed off and walked to class, with a confused look on his face like he didn't have a clue what he had done."Are you okay?" Jason asked "Yeah I am fine," I said even though I really wasn't.
...
School was finally over and Jason and heading to his house. When we walked threw the door, we quickly grabbed some chips and lemonade and made our way upstairs. We started watching YouTube and before long, we had eaten all of the chips.
"Let's go get some more chips," I said. Jason agreed so we practically sprinted downstairs and grabbed the chips.
"Carly honey, will you and Jason come in here for a second?" Jason's mom asked.
"Sure," I answered. Jason and I walked into the family room to find the news on.
"Watch this for me please," she said as we walked in.
"Breaking news. A man took a plane all the way from California to Seattle just to kill his wife. According to authorities the couple had gotten a divorce and the wife moved to Seattle after the divorce. The couple also have a teenage daughter, but authorities don't know where she is. The man will be sentence to a life time in jail for..." I didn't hear the rest because of the ringing in my ears. My mom is dead and my dad will be in jail forever! What am I supposed to do?
I started breathing hard again, like I do when I get stressed. The room started getting dark when I felt a hand slip into mine. Jason.
" It's gonna be okay," is the last thing I heard before I blacked out. But before I did I kept asking myself, what am I gonna do?
