"You can stay with us," Jason said.
"Can I really," I whimpered.
"Of course you can," Jason's mom said. I looked up into Jason's mom's sympathy filled eyes and said,
"But I can't stay with you forever. I mean ... "
"Don't worry about that right now. We will figure it out later. Right now, I want to to get some rest," she said hugging me.
"But what about my homework?" I asked.
"Oh heck with that," she laughed. "And besides, neither of you are going to school tomorrow."
"Really, not even me?" Jason asked.
"Well I mean there is no way Carly is going to school tomorrow. And I have to go to work and I don't want her to be alone so, yes even you," she said out of breath
"Sweet" Jason said. We walked upstairs and I fell onto Jason's bed.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"To be honest, no" I said.
"Let it all out, I will be here the whole time." He settled down next to me and put both arms around me. I snuggled against his chest, listening to his heartbeat and began to sob.
"She's gone, she's really gone," I cried.
"And I never want to see my dad again. This is all his fault. He's the reason I am upset. He's the reason my parents got a divorce. He's the reason my mom is dead," I yelled. After an hour of crying, I finally fell asleep in Jason's arms. I was too tired to keep yelling; too tired to keep crying. That night I dreamed of my mom and her sweet happy face. But I couldn't help but dream about the face of a murder who I happen to call "Dad".
