Gajeel is normally cold hearted and doesn't let anyone get near him. But after joining Fairy Tail he found a small Shrimp who opened him up in a way he never thought possible. For weeks now he has been searching for a song that held his feelings for her perfectly. Then it hit him, Arms by Christina Perri. It was just what he needed.

Levy began to notice that the big man was absent from the guild more then usual. One cloudy day she decided to go looking for him. No one from the guild had seen him that day so she had assumed that he was still at his house. She set of towards the far side of town where he had mentioned living before. She walked past Lucy's house and waved to her Blonde friend who was being drag towards the guild by her dragon partner. They had been on a mission and must have just gotten back this morning. Levy continued walking. Her eyes traveled over the ever-changing streets. What used to be open and bright was now somewhat closed off. The houses were closer together and the ground was a little dirty. She ignored this for she didn't care all that much. A ledge ran along the side of the road that she walked on. Suddenly a low strum of a guitar filled Levy's ears. She looked towards the ledge that she had previously taken no note of. She walked across the silent street and climbed up onto the ledge that was almost up to her shoulder. She balanced on the thin stone and walked towards the music. When she saw who was playing the guitar she almost fell off of the tall ledge. The man looked up when he heard her feet tripping over themselves.

Gajeel had been surprised to see Levy standing above him. He stood up abruptly, which startled the small girl. She jumped slightly and lost her balance. Her arms waved wildly as she fell backwards. Gajeel's big hands reached out and grabbed her waist. She let out a small squeal of surprise then began laughing as Gajeel helped her down. They stood on a grass field with a small creek splitting through it. Gajeel saw the surprised look of Levy's face. This area had surprised him too since the rest of the neighbor hood was so dirty and lifeless.

"What are you working on Gajeel?" Levy asked in a soft voice. She sat down next to the big man and gestured to his guitar. "Oh. Uh, well you see I was uh... I was learning a song..." Gajeel tripped over his tongue and mentally scolded himself. "Oh? Can I hear it?" She sat up on her knees, leaning back on her heels. Gajeel gulped slightly as he looked at the beautiful woman in front of him. "Yeah. Sure. It's not perfect yet. I mean I was learning it for... uh, for someone and so I wanted it to be perfect." Gajeel took a deep breath and grabbed his guitar, his eyes never leaving Levy.

Gajeel strummed his guitar, being careful not to miss a note. Levy watched as his big hands moved gently and carefully across the instrument.

I never thought that you would be the one to hold my heart

Gajeel looked up at Levy and saw her watching his guitar intently. He smiled and looked back down at his hands.

But you came around and you knocked me off the ground from the start

Levy took note of how much feeling Gajeel was putting into this song. His rough voice making her heart melt.

Gajeel looks up at Levy while he strums. He hopes that his words will reach her. Her smile lights up her whole face and all he wants to do right now is reach out and pull her close.

How many times will you let me change my mind and turn around

I can't decide if I'll let you save my life or if I'll drown

Levy's eyebrows furrow when she hears the line. It reminds her of the time Gajeel was battling Torafuzar. He had almost lost consciousness when Levy came to save him. Luckily she didn't swallow much of the water, allowing her to stay conscious to help her friends using her Solid Script.

I hope that you see right through my walls

Gajeel begged in his head. Let her see through me right now. Let her know that this is meant for her.

Levy scoots closer to Gajeel and moves so that she is sitting with her legs crossed in front of her. Her hands resting in her lap.

The world is coming down on me and I can't find a reason to be loved

Gajeel looks at Levy. Her eyes meet his and her face heats up. He holds back a small chuckle and continues the song.

Gajeel strums his guitar softly and suddenly feels Levy's head against his shoulder.

I tried my best to never let you in to see the truth

And I've never opened up

Gajeel looks down at Levy. Her eyes opening and closing slowly, her pale cheeks tinted a light pink, and her hair falling across her lips.

Levy looks up at Gajeel who is looking down at his guitar. Her head still rested on his firm shoulder.

Gajeel slowly stops strumming. Levy lifts her head off of his should and a big emptiness is made inside of him. He turns towards her and see her smiling face. "Gajeel! That was amazing!" She leaps forward and wraps her arms around him. Gajeel's heart skips a beat. He wraps his arms around the small girl and pulls her slightly closer. "It was for you Shrimp." He whispers into her hair. Gajeel can feel her take in a sharp breath before hugging him tightly. Gajeel smiles to himself, his chest rising and receding rapidly.

Levy snuggles her face up against Gajeel's neck when suddenly she feels a large drop of water hit her shoulder. Followed by another and another. The two release each other and look up at the sky. The clouds had finally decided to release the rain that it held. They both laughed and stood up in the rain as it began to come down harder. The two spent the rest of their day running across the hidden field while the rain pounded against everyone else's windows.
