Ice skating- NaLu

Part one ~ NaLu

Lucy's POV

The guild was basically empty. Almost everyone was home sick or on a mission. It is the middle of December and it's freezing out. Mira is working at the bar while having a sneezing fit. Natsu and Gray were fighting like usual. Juvia is no where to be seen, which is surprising cause she is usually gushing over Gray when he fights Natsu. Erza is reading a letter with a ridiculous smile on her face. Levy is reading a book and Gajeel is sitting next to her talking to Panther Lily and Happy.

I went over to Mira and sat down. She smiled at me then started sneezing. "Are you sure you should be working right now?" I ask her.

"If I wasn't working than no one would be here to manage the bar." She stated with her hands on her hips.

I sigh. "I'm sure that we would be fine without the bar for one day. I mean there's only a few people here anyways."

"I'm not supposed to leave while there are people here though." Mira says sadly. "Oh how bout you guys all go do something in town then I can close up for the day?!"

I look at Mira's pleading eyes and sigh. "Okay. But what are when gonna do? It's freezing out I don't think anyone wants to go fishing!"

"Hey minna!" Mira exclaims. Everyone turns to look at her. "You guys are all going to go ice skating!"

Everyone is a bit confused so I walk over to them and explain that Mira isn't feeling well and wants to close up so she needs us out. "Go home and change into warmer clothes than meet at the frozen pond on the outskirts of town on the east side." Mira says with a smile before pushing us out the door. We all go our separate ways as we walk to our houses.

I, being me, start walking on the raised edge of the canal. The canal itself has a very very thin sheet of ice covering it. "Be careful miss!" A man on the opposite side calls out. I nod to him in acknowledgement. I continue walking then feel my feet start to slip underneath me. I stepped on some ice that was on my path. I start falling towards the frozen water but before my feet come fully off the ledge I feel someone grab my wrist and pull me back up and in to their chest.

"God Luce! You need to be more careful!" I hear a familiar fire dragon slayer say.

Natsu's POV

She scared me half to death. I thought I wasn't going to get there in time and she was going to fall into the freezing water. "Th-thanks Natsu!" Lucy said from against my beating chest. Hopefully she couldn't hear how fast my heart was beating. I held her tightly before picking her up bridal style and running to her house. She is holding onto my neck tightly and I can feel her breath on my shoulder.

We finally get to her house and she thanks me before going inside to change. I don't need to get changed because my body heat keeps me warm so I just jump through her window and wait on her bed. Happy isn't with me because he decided it was to cold. He went back home to sleep the day away.

Lucy takes about 30 minutes to change then comes out of the bathroom and screams. "LUCY KICK!" She yells. Before I know it I have flown out the window and landed on the stone sidewalk outside her house.

I look up and see Lucy's head peaking out of her window, "Sorry Natsu! But don't scare me like that! I thought you were someone who broke into my house! Not that you didn't break in.." She mumbles the last part and I laugh at her.

"Come on Luce lets go skating." I say excitedly when she gets downstairs.

She looks at me, "you aren't going to change?"

"Nah. I have fire magic remember? It keeps me warm." I say with a shrug.

By the time we get to the pond we see Gray, Juvia, and Levy already there. Juvia and Gray are both really good at skating and are showing off by being all fancy. Levy just started getting on to the ice and is actually standing up pretty well. Lucy walks over to a bunch of skates that I'm guessing Mira gave to Gray.

3rd person POV

Natsu tries standing up but fails miserably. "How am I supposed to walk in these things?" He complains. Lucy laughs and extends her hand to help him up. He grabs the white gloved hand in front of him and tries standing again. This time he doesn't fall but is just a little bit wobbly.

Lucy laughs at him before walking towards the pond. Natsu is still holding her hand but can still barley stand up. "Have you ever skated before?" Lucy asks. Natsu shrugs in reply. He hasn't skated once in his life. This is going to be interesting.

"Come on I'll show you." Lucy says with a smile. Her cheeks are dusted with red which is partly from blushing and partly from being cold. Lucy steps on to the ice with no problem. Natsu on the other hand...

Natsu's POV

I step on the ice then fall on my ass. How are you supposed to stand up on something so slippery. I look up and see Lucy giggling at me as she offers me her hand. I take it and she pulls me up... Again!

When I finally am able to stand up on my own Lucy grabs both of my hands and pulls me into the middle of the pond. I don't understand how she can glide so easily without falling. I look over and notice everyone else is on the ice as well. Gajeel is also having a difficult time. "I don't understand this." "Huh?" "How am I supposed to stand on ice! It's crazy!" I start complaining to Lucy.

"You're gonna skate. I'm gonna help you until you can do it on your own. Got it?" I nod my head to Lucy who smiles to me in return. "Ok so push off with your right foot then your left. It's not that hard." She starts explaining. Although I kind of get lost in her eyes and the sound of her voice. "Tsu! Natsu! Hello?! Natsu!" I suddenly am aware of what's going on again.

"S-sorry."

"You okay? You kind of blanked out there." Lucy looks at me with concern.

"I-I'm fine."

"We're you even listening?" I nod my head. "Okay then... Try it!" Lucy smiles at me and waits.

"C-can you help me?" I ask. Usually I wouldn't ask for help but I didn't want to be away from Lucy for even a second.

"Give me you hand. Now follow me!" We both had a slight blush on our cheeks. But then again, hers could be from the cold weather.

Lucy's POV

I start skating and am mostly pulling Natsu across the ice. I turn back and look at him while motioning to his feet. He understands and tries to start skating. I'm not saying he did good but he tried. I turn around so that I'm skating backwards and try to help him as much as possible while still moving. What he's doing is more like shuffling on the ice, not skating. But it's cute the way he's trying to do something out of his comfort zone.

I saw what was going to happen before it did. I tried to reach out and stop him but it was already in motion. Natsu's toe pick got stuck in the ice and he tripped. Falling forward and crashing into me in the process.

I was falling but when I hit the ground I was surprised when I didn't feel my head smack the ice. Natsu was on top of me but he had his arms wrapped around my neck. His arms had stopped my head from hitting the ice. We were both breathing heavily but neither of us tried to move. We just laid there starting into each other's eyes. I was blushing a lot. Natsu might have been blushing but I think it was from the cold. Although Natsu was very warm.

Natsu's POV

Hopefully she couldn't see the blush running across my face. Our foreheads were almost touching and our breath was mixing together. Her hat had fallen off when we fell and her golden locks were now spread out across the ice. Her brown eyes put me in a trance like state. On instinct my head started moving closer to hers.
