A/N: Guys, this is my favorite chapter. It may be a little long, but please read through it! I hope you all enjoyed it, it took me a few days to write. Love you guys!
*~! Tiana's POV !~*
I clutched Antonio's arm next to me once I saw her. Chills were sent up my spine, and I shivered. My husband pecked my cheek, and whispered something in my ear.
"Do not go around her. Make sure you don't end up alone with her," he instructed then kissed my earlobe. I gave him a death glare, and he chuckled.
I saw my daddy standing there with his arms open, and I waddled over to him.
"I cannot believe my little girl is married," he looked at me and sighed. I wrapped my arms around his waist, and hugged him.
"Tiana, baby?" He said when I pulled away.
"Yes sir?"
"What's that?" He asked, pointing to my stomach.
"Oh... Uhm, everyone! We need to tell you all something," Antonio spoke up. Everyone's attention turned to us.
"We are having twins! A boy and a girl!" I announced. Everyone cheered again over the music and my dad gave me the most bone crushing hug ever.
"That's great sweetie!" He boomed in my ear.
"Yeah! We named our little girl after mommy," I confessed, and lowered my head.
"It's okay baby. Your mom would be very proud of you. And knowing that you married my boy," he laughed and hugged Ant. "Take care of my baby girl, okay?" He told him.
"Yes sir, old man," Antonio chuckled.
I had my first dance with Antonio, one with my dad, the twins, Momma K, Matthew, and Lexi. The one that meant the most was Momma K's though.
"You know, your mom wouldn't have had it any other way," she smiled as we rocked quietly to a Carrie Underwood song: Mama's Song. A solemn tear rolled down my cheek as the words reached my heart.
- "He is good, so good. He treats your little girl like a real man should. He is good, so good. He makes promises he keeps. No, he's never gonna leave. So don't you worry about me." -
"Yes ma'am..." I trailed off. I miss my mom. She was my best friend, and my heart.
"You know she would be happy that you and Tony are together, and have beautiful babies on the way. She would've said 'its about time! I called it from day one," she laughed and I giggled with her.
"Yup. I know she would've loved Aiden and Krystal," I laughed again. My mom loved little kids, but they had to be smart for her to like them, like my kids.
"Yes she would have... And you know what would've made her feel even better?" She asked. I shook my head, no.
"If you release her completely. She always had wanted your father to move on, and be happy. She also wouldn't want you to be upset if he does decide to start having relationships again. She always wanted me to tell you that you will always be her little girl. You know your father and I are great friends, and you know I talk to him almost everyday. He gets lonely without you there T. And I'll leave it to him to tell you, but when he does, please just accept it. It's okay to love again baby. Okay?" She spoke. Tears welled up in my eyes, but I do need to realize this.
"Yes ma'am," I whispered back. I squeezed her real tight, and she did me the same. "I love you Momma K," I sobbed.
"I love you too honey... But no more crying, alright. You need to be happy! No more," she took my hands away from my eyes. I giggled and nodded.
"Yes ma'am," then kissed her cheek.
I went to go find my dad, he's been avoiding me since I talked to Momma K. I finally spotted him in a corner holding hands with an older lady. She was a little, maybe 5 years, younger than him. She was gorgeous, a carmel lady like my mom. Her hair was shortly cut and styled like many black actresses. She wore a subtle black dress with a beige belt in the middle. She was shorter than my daddy, around 5' 7. I could tell just by that, we would get along great.
And for the first time in around 11 years, he smiled. My dad always smiles at me and a few others, but he actually smiled a genuine smile. A smile that says he's completely happy. I felt Antonio wrap his arm around me, and he kissed my hair while he stood behind me.
"He's happy baby," he stated in my ear.
"I know babe... I think I'm ready for him and me to be completely happy," I grinned and he nuzzled in my hair.
We made our way over to my daddy, and the mysterious woman.
"Uhm, do you want to introduce me?" I spoke up, and my dad jumped so hard. We all laughed except my father, who looked nervous.
"Uhm... Tiana, this is my lady friend, Katherine," he introduced us. I nodded and she held her hand out. When I didn't shake it, everyone's eyes bulged.
"Oh, please! Give me a hug," I giggled, and pulled her in.
"Nice to meet you Tiana! I've read just about everything, and seen every magazine. I work for Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, and she loves you. She's my best friend," she explained.
"Really?!" I basically shrieked. I knew I would love this woman.
"Tiana's watched every newscast from Good Morning America since she was 7. She loves Robin," my dad chimed in.
"Wow! We'll have to get you on the show one day," she winked at me. Antonio cleared his throat, apparently annoyed by being left out.
"Oh, sorry. This is my husband, Antonio," I introduced, and they shook hands.
"It's so weird to hear you say that," my dad chuckled. "For a minute, I thought Tony was a little on the funny side," my dad slapped my husbands back and laughed. We couldn't help but join in.
"This is the best friend you fell in love with?" Katherine asked.
"Depends on which one... It's a long story, but this is the one I am so in love with," I grinned proudly, Antonio pecked my lips. My dad flinched at the gesture, but quickly regrouped.
"That's great... I've seen pictures of you two when you all were little," she smiled.
"Yeah, we were in separable. Still are," Tony remarked.
"Would you like to come sit? I mean, since I know you all are dating now, you don't have to hide over here," I laughed and lead the way to the living room.
"So, you loved two of your best friends?" She asked.
"Well, me and my other best friend, he's right over there," I pointed to Warren who has shockingly not spoken to me. "Antonio left when I was 13, and came back here to Italy. So I grew up with Warren because our fathers were business partners. We ended up engaged, just because we thought it was the right thing to do. We were really, really, really, close before we got engaged. We both slowly started to drift away, so we called the wedding off. Tonio came back to me, and we fell in love all over again, and now I'm married with 2 babies, and two on the way. As for Warren, he's engaged again, we're both happy, and we both are still friends. Antonio and him are close, as I am with his fiancé. It all turned out great," I explained.
"Wow! You all have a unique story. So you have two children?" She inquired again.
"Yes ma'am," I answered, and called Aiden and Krystal over. They smiled and greeted Ms. Katherine, then ran off to play. "Those are my children. They are technically Antonio's brother and sister, but we adopted them, and have been raising them. And I'm having twins, a boy and a girl," I smiled. My husband and dad walked off, and went to talk to some relatives.
"I guess they couldn't handle the girl talk," Katherine giggled, and I joined in.
"You know, I like you Ms. Katherine! Can I call you mom? I've always wanted my own mom since she passed, and I thought there was no way for me to have one again. But now, here you are!" I grinned.
"Yes sweetie, that's fine," she grabbed my hand. "I just want you to know that I'm not trying to take your mother's place, nor do I want to take your dad away from you. I love your father, and hopefully we'll get married one day. But I want you to know that you will always have me here to talk if you want. I was married once before, but my husband died the same day your mom died, so I feel your father's pain. I know this probably isn't gonna be the easiest thing, but I thank you for accepting me. I already can tell we'll get along," she nodded and patted my hands.
"Thank you. It means a lot to me, mom," I giggled and hugged her tightly.
After we were finished talking, which was a lot of fun, I went to find Warren.
"Nessa! War!" I called once I found them.
"Oh my God, Ana!" Vanessa squealed and hugged me. Warren stood shyly behind her.
"Is there something wrong sir? Your best friend just got married, and is pregnant with twins. Give me a hug," I pulled him in after smacking the side of his head.
"We miss you T," he whispered and pecked my cheek.
"I miss you guys too," I smiled as Antonio came from behind me again, bro hugging Warren.
"What's with you, dude?" He asked Warren.
"Nothing man... It's just kinda weird seeing my little sister get married, and she's pregnant! So much for one day," he chuckled.
"Oh, grow up," I laughed and lightly hit his chest.
"Have you met dad's lady friend?" Vanessa asked. Everyone refers to my dad as theirs because... Well - he's been a dad to all of us.
"Yeah," I sighed, putting a show on. "But I love her already!" I laughed, and everyone looked shocked at me. "Ohhhhkayyy... Not the response I was hoping for," I muttered.
"Y- you actually like her?!" Warren looked at me, confused.
"Yeah! You guys don't? I mean, look at them! They're adorable," I gestured to my dad who's smile never left his face.
"No, no! We love her too. We just didn't know you would," Vanessa said and moved her blonde hair to the side.
"Yeah. I thought you would be a little reluctant..." War added.
"Nah, she's good for him. And she knows Robin Roberts, so we're already basically best friends," I explained.
After speaking with War and Nessa, I excused myself to the rest room. I walked in, handled my business, and started out. A hand clamped my mouth, and I knew who it was. I should've known not to come by myself.
I kept trying to yell, but I couldn't. I squirmed as Sofia tied me to a chair, and taped me down. What's with the chair and tape?!
"Nice to see you, again, sister in law," she hissed and twirled a knife in her fingers. My heart was beating so fast. I didn't even know where we were, and I live here!
"Oh yeah... Garibaldi's my dad. That dream you had was right," she laughed loudly. How'd she know about the dream?
"Because I controlled your thoughts. See, dad was working on this thing before your bitch ass killed him. It was designed to over take your brain, and I replace your thoughts with ones I want you to have," she snickered.
I wanted nothing more than to fight her, but I can't. She trailed the knife across my stomach, not making a scratch.
"See, I was thinking that maybe I could start here," she started, leaving a small cut. "And then ending over here," she left another scratch. She giggled a bit, before cutting deeper into my side. I tried to cry out because of the pain. The knife sunk slowly, but not enough to effect my babies, but I was losing so much blood.
I heard a door being kicked open, and it revealed Katherine. She punched Sofia in the face, leaving her sprawled out across the floor: Out, cold. She cut the tape off of me with the same knife that had my blood, and carefully picked me up. This lady is strong! She called for Antonio and Warren as she held a cloth to my bleeding side.
"Get her to the precinct! She could die," Katherine instructed. Antonio's eyes filled with water, and so did Warren's as they moved me out of the mystery room, and to a truck in the back.
I could feel myself slip away, slowly. I was so tired all of the sudden. I could barely keep my eyes open.
"Stay with me baby, please," Antonio cooed in my ear.
"Tony... I love you," I grumbled. My eyes slowly fluttered shut.
"Baby no!" I heard a yell.
-------------------------------
I walked through those golden doors, like in my dream. Everything is becoming reality.
"Hi baby! I missed you," my mom hugged me.
"Mommy! I missed you too. I got married to Antonio today, like you
always said would happen. And you know what? I love him so so so much. I adopted his little brother and sister, they're geniuses mom! You would like them a lot. Antonio and I have become their parents, and we are raising them. And as you can see, I'm having twins: A boy and a girl. The little boy's name is Gabriel Antonio Marconi, the little girl we named after you. Her name is Alexandria Grace, like your name is. And mom, things are great. I wish you were here to enjoy it with me..." I trailed off as we sat on a bench.
"There's a reason I'm not there with you all... If I was there, your dad wouldn't have made that deal with Garibaldi. That means you would've never met Warren. If you wouldn't have met Warren, you wouldn't have the career you have now. Antonio would've thought you were grown, and married. And he would've never came back. Thus, leaving you with nothing and no one. There's a reason for everything baby," she smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Daddy has a girlfriend now... I really like her. Are you okay with that? I don't want you to think I love her more than you, mommy," I sighed.
"I know baby. She's good for him, they'll be great together. I still love him, but now that we can't be together, I love him as a friend. I want him to be happy. And I want you happy," my mom pulled me closer, and rocked me like she used to do when I was little.
"Mommy, I think I'll be happy. Antonio takes such good care of me. And Momma K is great too! She's still funny and gorgeous," I giggled.
"I know baby. I see everything," she reminded me. I nodded.
"Yes ma'am... Mom, do I have to go back?" I asked foolishly.
"Yes, Tiana, you do. You love everyone there right? I want you to look," she pointed at a mirror that appeared.
"That's what it looks like in the hospital you're in. You see how sad everyone is? They love you T, they all do. And see Lexi? Kendal and Kylie? Antonio and your father most importantly?" She pointed to my best friend, and the others.
"Yes ma'am. How do you know- oh..." I trailed off remembering again that she sees everything.
"That's why you have to go back. They love you Tiana..." She smiled down at me.
"But mom, I really want to be with you again," I whined and tears slid down my face.
"Tiana, cut that out! I want you here too, but you can't leave all that behind. They need you baby. Antonio needs you more than anyone else, though. He will die without you. You are a piece of him, you all both are 50% of each other. Go back to him," she encouraged.
"Will I get to see you again?" I asked as I stood up.
"You can see me three more times. And sadly, those will be when you get hurt really bad, and the third will be when you die. I can guarantee that the third time will not be coming any time soon. But I want you to know two things," she smiled at me, and I nodded.
"One, you need to know that you are my world, my entire heart, and my everything. My baby girl is my best friend. And number two, it's okay to let me go. I am well rested and happy. After I let you return, you are to release me completely. I'll visit you, but you won't be able to see me besides those 3 times. I love you baby girl. Now, go," she spoke. My mommy hugged me very tightly and I returned the favor. I kissed her cheek one last time, and came out of the golden room.
-------------------------------
I felt myself come back to my body, and my eyes peeled open.
"SHE'S AWAKE!" Antonio boomed. Everyone rushed out except him and my father. My father came to me and kissed my forehead.
"I love you," he whispered, and followed everyone else out.
I looked up at Antonio as the nurses moved around, sticking and unplugging things. The tears easily slid off his face, and I tried to wipe them away. I screamed as loud as I could due to the pain in my side. He flinched, and tore his eyes away from mine.
"Baby," I called, and he slowly faced me again.
"Tiana, I can't watch you hurt like this... I love you," Antonio kissed me deeply, and the nurse injected something into my arm.
"I love you too," I mumbled as my husband walked out of the door, and I fell asleep again.
A/N: The next chapter is Antonio's POV mostly! I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. What do you think about Ms. Katherine? She saved Tiana's life, and she'll be a permanent character from now on.
