Aurora gave me a decision to make before midday during the feast and here I am, standing barely awake and it's a little past ten in the dew of the morning and I still have on night clothes. I slide my hands down the side of my face. I wonder what's in that wardrobe. I walk over to it not expecting anything attractive to wear. I open it up and it was filled with several dresses. All of which are worthy of wearing. One sticks out more than the rest. It hangs right in the middle as if it were made for me. It's a bright, smoking silver. It out shines all of the other dresses. It has a certain allure about it. For the first time since being here, I smile. Not a full smile, but something that symbolizes excitement.

I slip on the dress and walk over to this mirror laying on a vanity. I look amazing. The mirror reveals curves that I didn't know I had. My hair a dark hazel brown that falls onto my shoulder. My eyes matching my skin. I had a feeling that Aurora put his dress there on purpose. If so, I commend her on her efforts to make me feel comfortable. If I was going to stay, I need to stay in style. I need to play my part. I have to grow a backbone.

Feeling wonderful, I decide it's time to go to see Aurora. "Guards." One of them opens the door and looks at me. He looks at me with pleasure. His expression gave me confidence. It gave me something to help me continue on. "I would like to go to my daughter's room please." "Yes malady. Follow me." I know that before I tell her my decision, I have to stand up straight. My needs to know that I'm serious. No more games. No defiance. No more talk of home. I can't display fear. Before the guards knock on her door, I steady the pace of my inhales and exhales.

I'm immediately greeted. Aurora looks at me through her mirror. Switching up between looking and applying her lipstick. "Mother, don't you just look stunning. I see you picked the dress I personally picked for you. You wear it so perfectly like I knew you would." "Thank you Aurora, I genuinely love it." "You may close the door now David." I get up from the vanity and stand tall before my mother. I was always tall. My mother passed that down to me. She stands in that dress rising above everyone she meets. I just stand a few inches taller than her. "Aurora you look very...very beautiful. Dark, but beautiful. Let's pass the small talk. I know what you're waiting on.

I did a lot of thinking last night. I took the time to simmer in my conscious and the decision became clear to me." I walk closer to My , letting My know that I'm serious. "You are my daughter. I'm here to stay. I will be your second. I will help you in any way I can." My lets out a devious smile." "Well I must say, I didn't think you would say yes. This is music to my ears. I will save everything important I have to say for the table. To the feast. Shall we mother?" "We shall."

"Guards, my mother and I are prepared to head to the feast." They open the doors and lead us to the dining halls. "Along the way, I look at Aurora a couple times out the corners of my eyes and walk. My looks dead ahead. Not looking at anything, but straight forward. "I wonder how my does that. She wouldn't falter if a tuba played right in her ear. She walks so straight as if she had done this for years. Her chin faced toward the direction ahead. As I study her, we come to a stop. We stand in front of these large doors that seem to be too big for any man to open. Two wolves stand in front of them. They're fierce looking creatures. Their teeth as sharp as knives. Their breaths rumble the grounds. They panic me, but I hold my poise. Aurora says out loud, "Don't be alarmed. They won't harm anyone without my orders. Now go guard some other door." The wolves run off and I feel safe again.
