(Dan's POV)
I went to school today like normal. Then I talked to Phil like normal. Then he asked me "Dan, why did you move here?" Should I tell him? Or should I lie? I guess he saw I was surprised by the question and said "sorry you don't have to tell me if you don't want to" I want to tell him though. I say, "No, it's ok really. I'm here because I got bullied at my last school for being.. gay" I kinda whispered the last word. He just goes "I know what that's like, as you know but they don't know I'm gay but if they did I would probably be ok anyway." And that's when I remember that this school makes sure you are not homophobic because the dean is gay.
(Third person POV)
Then a little piece the size of a grain of sand disappeared from Phil's square but no one noticed. Dan said to Phil "Hey we're both gay high five" and Phil smiled for the first time in 2 years then high fives Dan. Dan was so excited he squealed "Phil you smiled! I never seen you smile"
(Dan's POV)
Wow. His smile makes him look so adorable. I mean... ok yeah I mean adorable. I like my best friend! Oh no. Wait we aren't best friends really, we've only known each other for 3 weeks aka a month. I can't believe I squealed so embarrassing. "Anyway, I'm glad I moved here because I got to meet my best friend" I say.
(Phil's POV)
Best friend? Who is it? It's not me because he is Dan and I'm, well I'm just Phil. I am a boring, shy and probably annoying guy who's gay and doesn't have a puzzle piece but has a square. I probably looked so confused because then Dan says, "Phil, you're my best friend if you were confused on the last bit" and laughs. Wow. His laugh is like angels. I mean... ok yeah I mean angels. Oh jeez I like best friend. I hope I stop soon because Dan would never like me back. Then I say ,after he stopped laughing, "Best friends? After a month?" Until I realize that I just sounded mean I say "That's amazing." He just chuckles "Yeah and a little quick but I don't know we just get along so well." Then he smiles so big I see his dimple. I think he saw me looking oh no. I just glare at the ground hoping he didn't see me.
