Gage slowly walked up to her, his heart beating so fast, it felt like it might beat straight out of his chest. " Hello, My name is Gage... May I buy you a coffee? "
she looked at him, her eyes glowing almost, he could tell she was a little nervous and
tense. " Hi, I'm Mykaela... and yes, you may.. I'll have a coffee with milk and sugar. "
She says, as she shakes his hand.
Gage stares at her for a second not sure of what else to say. A woman has never made him nervous and speechless like this one did. " May I have a seat with you?" He asks. He waits for her answer patiently.
Mykaela looks at him for a few seconds, with intensity shining in her eyes, before she answers. " Sure, why not?" Mykaela smiles at him, dimples showing slightly on her cheeks. " I have to meet a friend here in a few though, she's running a little late, I guess."
Gage remained silent, still unsure of what to say next. Once again Mykaela rendered him speechless.
At that moment, his sister, Kassy walked through the door of the coffee shop and made her way to their table. She stopped mid stride when she saw her own brother sitting with her room mate. " Hey bro, why are you sitting with my room mate? Did you know I was going to be here?" Kassy glared at Gage, her beautiful golden brown eyes flashing with what looked like anger, but he wasn't sure.
Gage looked at his sister, then back at Mykaela, then at his sister again. " NO, I just wanted to meet Mykaela as soon as I saw her walk through the door.. She's so damn hot, I just couldn't resist." Gage said, as he couldn't take his eyes off Mykaela for even one second, he wanted to see her reaction to what he said.
Just as he thought would happen, a blush creped up Mykaelas' face singeing her skin like a sunburn. Mykaela looked down at the table, suddenly shy to make eye contact with Gage. He still stared at her, she could see from the corner of her eye. " I was just about to ask Mykaela, if she would like to go out with me on Friday? " He smiled, as he waited patiently for her answer.
At this request, Mykaela finally made eye contact with him, still a little pink from his earlier statement.
" Me? You want to go out with me? " Mykaela asked, stunned, like it was the craziest thing on earth for a guy she just met to ask her out, Although this did happen quite often.
Gage looked at her, shocked, still unable to take his eyes off her. He almost forgot his sister was standing beside them, until she spoke. " DAMN IT, GAGE!!!" She shouted. " I knew this would happen if you met her, that's why I never introduced you two."
At this statement, Gages' eyes finally left mykaelas face. He looked up at his sister confused. "What the hell is that supposed to mean, Kass?" He stared at Kassy, with a hard expression on his face. When she didn't answer him immediately, he started to get angry and irritated. " WELL... I'M WAITING...what... the... hell... do... you... mean?!" Gage asked again through gritted teeth.
Kassy just rolled her eyes at him. " What I mean is, you've dated all of my friends and end up screwing them over...every time. You always break their heart some way, some how, Gage... " Kassy paused for a second. " You either dump them with no warning or you cheat on them. Now all of my friends that you've hurt pretty much hate me and want nothing to do with me or they just barely speak to me." She glared at Gage for a minute, waiting for him to say something, when he didn't she spoke again. "Now is that a good enough explanation for you, my dear brother?"
Gages' jaw dropped slightly, like he couldn't believe his sister just said that in front of Mykaela. All of a sudden, it was like a bomb exploded in his brain, he became furious.
"WHAT THE FUCK, KASSANDRA? ARE YOU SERIOUS? YOU ARE SUCH A FUCKING BITCH!!!" Gage stood up from the table. Before he walked away, he grabbed a napkin and wrote down his phone number and address, with a small note added underneath.
Gage slid the note across the table to Mykaela, said "Goodbye", kissed Mykaelas' hand and then pretty much sprinted out the side door of the coffee shop.
