Chapter 4: Ed

I was thinking about the note that i had found in Henrietta's room last night so much so that I started to fall asleep while analyzing
In a few hours I woke up and immediately jumped on my bike and rode to Ed's house
Yet again I had another weird dream Smiles was at a house I'm guessing is Ed's house he was wearing a long jacket,one like a blanket of darkness I was thinking "What is he trying to do?" I ran into the house but as soon I opened the door, I was transported into Ed's room where he was sleeping and Smiles took out a large shotgun from his concealing coat loaded it with a single shell.
I tried to run to stop the shot but I was wrapped up in wires controlled by Smiles.He, as always gave me his signature smile then BANG!
I woke up.
Back to the present, I'm on my bike and I remembered I was Ed's friend on Facebook so I called him on Messenger
Ring Ring "Hello?"
"Ed it's me, David listen STAY AWAY FROM GUNS you hear me?"
"Why?"
"I'll tell you when I get there."
"Ok....Well..." knock knock.
Ed started to scream I was fortunate enough to be outside his house just in the nick of time
I opened his front door and ran upstairs to the sound of blood-curdling screams. I kicked open his door and saw a masked man trying to stab him with a kitchen knive, Maybe the same one used to kill Henrietta. I tackled him down and took the knive I tried to stab him but, with great precision, he punched me in the stomach and pulled out a gun.

Fear. The only feeling in my body at that moment. I ran at him and tackled him once again. I took the gun and pulled the trigger

He ran out the window, but before gave me a Large smile

"Ed, are you okay?"
"Yeah...I'm okay."
I turned on his lamp but then BANG!
What was that?
I looked around the room to see, but I found a dead Ed, How?
The guy ran out and the gun was unloaded
How did he do it?
