When The Day Met The Night

Prologue

I was walking into the FBI building following my uncle who knew the place like the back of his hand. Wondering who I am well let me tell you.

My name is Alynne Gideon I just graduated from the academy and now following in my uncles footsteps

‘Now remember out there it’s not like what the textbooks tell you’ Jason has been yapping for 20 minutes about how my books won’t get me anywhere in the field

‘I know calm down or I’ll tell dad you’re raising your heart rate like usual’ I said stepping into the elevator

‘You’ll be seeing Hotchner you’re soon to be boss’ with that the elevator doors opened.

Walking down the hall and walking into a bull pen type room I followed my uncle up some stairs and into a door

‘Jason good to see you again’ a man with dark hair and a full navy blue suit greeted

‘You to Aaron this is my niece Alynne’ I shook Aaron’s hand and gave professional smile

‘Nice to meet you’ I said

‘Call me Hotch and its good to meet you to Alynne, let me show you to your new desk’ he said and I followed both men out the office and down to a desk that was kind of in a corner.

I heard a whole bunch of voices from behind and turned to see 4 people walk in and took instant notice to my uncle

‘Gideon’ one guy said who had short dirty blonde hair and was slim

‘Hello Reid how are you all’ my uncle said smiling his grim smile

‘Well…uh…what are you doing here?’ Reid asked with a look of shock

‘Just dropping off my niece for her first day of work’ he said and everyone turned to me.

One person walked up and stuck out his hand, he had dark skin and was muscular

‘Derek Morgan and what’s your name doll face?’ he asked and I could tell that he was a ladies man

‘Alynne Gideon nice to meet you’ I said shaking his hand

‘This is the rest of the team Agents Prentiss, Jareau, Garcia, and Rossi’ Prentiss had longish black hair, Jareau had long curly blonde hair, Garcia well she was wild looking with her bright red hair and eccentric clothing, and Rossi had dark hair that you could tell was starting to turn grey.

‘Well it’s nice to meet you all and I can’t wait to work with you’ I said feeling a bit awkward.

Few moments later my uncle went to go talk with Rossi and Hotch, Garcia left the room, and I was standing with Reid, Morgan, Jareau, and Prentiss

‘So how are you Gideon’s niece?’ Reid asked me and looked like he was eyeing me

I put my bag down on my desk on shifted my feet a bit ‘Well he had a sister and I’m her daughter. My mom died from being murdered and I moved in with my cousin Steven and is Uncle Jason’s son.’ I spoke quietly

‘How old are you?’ Reid asked quickly acting like he didn’t listen to what I said

’24 I just finished my studies and Uncle Jason decided to make me study cases that he’s done and like he says this job is nothing like the textbooks tell you’ I laughed a bit at that thought

‘What do you specialize in?’ Reid asked again

‘Sexual satis’s and gang’s’ I said

‘Alright Reid I think that’s enough questioning from you’ Jareau said ‘by the way call me JJ and if you need anything just tell me’ she smiled

‘No problem’ I said

I was looking around the room and spotted my uncle waving me over

‘Excuse me for a moment’ I said to them and walked over

‘I have to get going but tonight there’s going to be a dinner at my house so be there by 7 okay’ Jason said and hugged me goodbye and walked out the door.

‘I need you to do some paperwork before I put you on the job’ I turned to Hotch

‘No problem I can do that’ I smiled and walked into an office

‘JJ I need you to give some paperwork to Gideon so she can get some training on what you do’

‘You taking me out of my job Hotch?’ JJ questioned

‘Not at all but I just want to see how she does when it comes to figuring out what cases need more attention’ he spoke quickly

‘No problem the pile on that desk she can do’ JJ said and continued with her work.

‘Thank you’ I said and grabbed the pile and Hotch walked away.

I was walking down the stairs and went over to my desk and started sorting through cases. I heard someone walk up to me but I was in the middle of doing the work

‘Need a break there’ I looked up to see Prentiss standing by me

‘Sure what you need’ I asked politely

‘I just wanted to come talk with you since I didn’t have a chance earlier’ she smiled and took a seat on my desk

‘Sorry about that so what’s the deal on Reid?’ I asked because earlier I felt like he was trying to find some fault in me or something

‘Well usually Reid is quiet but I don’t think I’ve seen him grill someone like that before unless he was talking to an unsub on a case’ she said and I could tell she was thinking

‘Alright so how long have you been with the BAU?’ I asked

‘A few years or so now but don’t worry you’ll love it here’ she said in a positive manner.

A/N Alright this is my first criminal minds fan fic! It’s probably going to be a sort story kinda thing but you never know
