When The Day Met The Night

Chapter1- Dinner

Work was pretty boring; Derek and Emily took me out for some lunch and by the way on the job I call them by there last names but other than that I have to call them by there first. We had some sushi at a near by sushi bar. I have sorted through some files but JJ gave me more. I didn’t mind doing these kinds of things but I didn’t want to take JJ out of her job or anything.

‘Gideon you’re off the clock at 6:50 but I will see you tomorrow’ Hotch said and left.

I looked up and around to see most of the room was empty except for Reid so I decided to go up and talk.

‘Alright what’s your deal’ I asked when I walked up and startled him

‘Excuse me?’ he asked confused

‘When I first go here you grilled me about why I’m here and stuff like that what’s with that’ I asked crossing my arms

‘It was nothing I just was wondering’ he said nervously

‘Look I like you I think we would be good friends but seriously just befriend me first before you do that’ I said but the way I said it made me seem like I was a snob which I wasn’t.

I like Reid he’s cute and everything I could see a potential something there but his attitude was just…rude

‘I’m sorry I was just confused with the whole you being Gideon’s niece’ he said shyly

‘It’s alright I’m not mentioned by him I don’t think he even talks about his family’ I said walking back to my desk noticing I had to go

‘See you later’ Reid yelled across the room.

I packed up files and got my leather jacket on. I left the building and went to my civic and started driving back to my house.

I got to my place and changed into a purple tank, skinny jeans, ked’s, and my leather jacket. I grabbed my brown purse and left again to uncle’s house.

I arrived to see a bunch of cars in front so I parked and got out. I went in to see well Hotch, JJ, Steven, Morgan, Penelope, and Emily in the living room

‘Hey everyone’ I said taking my jacket off and putting my bag in the closet

‘Hey Alynne, Jason invited us for dinner…surprise’ Derek said in a smooth voice

‘Alynne I’d like you to meet my son Jack’ Hotch said and there was a little blonde boy who looked to be about 8 came up to me and I kneeled down

‘What up Jack how’s life’ I said sticking my hand out

‘Good but I’m sorta bored’ he whispered in my ear

‘I know but if your good I’ll show you were I keep my kinder eggs in the house…deal’ I said looking at everyone knowing they heard me

‘Awesome’ Jack said happily and high fived me

‘Let’s get dinner eaten up’ my uncle said shooing everyone in the dining room

‘So how’s you first day Aly’ Steven asked nudging my arm

‘Good Steve’ I said

‘You know I hate that name’ he groaned and took a seat beside me and Jack took the other chair beside me

‘I’m going to sit beside you ‘cause your cool’ Jack said and we all laughed.

We started eating and talking with one another JJ brought her little boy Henry and her husband Will. Dinner was getting good than we heard the doorbell

‘I’ll get it’ Jason said and left the room.

When he came back he brought Reid with him and I felt…well nervous

‘Hey everyone sorry I’m late’ Reid said taking the chair right in front of me

‘Hi Alynne’ he said smiling and getting some food

‘By the way the desert we have was cooked by Alynne and the dinner prepared by Steven’ Jason said

‘Is Steven your boyfriend’ Reid asked me

‘That’s gross incest oh please’ Steven said in a feminine tone

‘Yeah Reid me and Steven are cousins, we live together actually’ I said snickering

‘Oh…I feel stupid’ he said and everyone started laughing.

Topics kept coming up and one in particular about rap

‘Did you know women between the age of 13 and 25 get rapped the most it’s actually quiet common’ but he stats were wrong

‘Actually no it doesn’t matter about the age but since it does right now it’s actually 16 and over because you can’t have an exact age because a women at any age could be rapped and teens are the ones get rapped the most but its conceptual sex but in the law it’s not’ from that everyone went silent even Reid

‘Alynne is just as smart as Reid she’s also considered a genius’ my uncle said smiling at me

‘Really?’ Reid said in amazement

‘I just don’t flaunt it around because I don’t like having that much brains’ I said smiling

‘She could have been a professor like Steven could have but she decided to do the job I retired from

‘Yeah I work in a mechanic shop because I like cars dad’ Steven said finishing his food.

‘Anyways if your all done lets get some dessert out’ Jason said and Jack was excited

‘What’s the dessert’ Jack asked

‘Angel food cake’ I said smiling

‘Bake what you’re born with’ Derek joked with Penelope smacking his arm

‘Derek shut up, so Alynne how long did the cake take you’ Penelope asked

‘Well I came here yesterday and made it and put some chocolate in it’ I said

‘It must be delicious than’ Will commented

‘I hope so’

My uncle brought the cake out and we all had a piece. They all loved it and I was glad it took awhile and to hear they did like it made my day.

Everyone left including me with positive attitudes

‘Hey Alynne see you tomorrow’ Morgan yelled and I got into my car.
