I know that somewhere out there
Your soul wreaths mine.
They gaze at the same swarthy sky,
Their faces bright and benign.
Her refulgent smile,
His radiant eyes
So far from the reality we both live in,
So far from our terrible lies.
Can you hear their deafening laughter?
The one that waters the sun?
Can we run away from the world
Which they shun?
I know that somewhere out there
Your soul seeks mine.
They live under the same sky,
Under the same stars they whine.
Her fading smile,
His hazy eyes...
They cover their ears so as
Not to hear our deafening cries.
Can you feel their grief?
The one that darkens the moon?
Can we run away from the world?
I need to hear you laugh and croon.
Please, let's run away...
Note: "Moonlight Sonata" is what I was listening to when I was writing this poem. I hope that it has some of the sonata's magic!
Thank you all for reading my poetry!
