Dedicated to Jess, who has a talent for writing stories. :) :P
the water streamed through my hair as i swam onward, battling against the strong current that tore at my skin. i had been swimming for about two hours and my tail was in cramps, and my wound seemed to be attracting sharks. they don't bother me though. i snarl at them and they dart away like the cowardly little mullet they are. I decided to rest for the night because the Autumn storm was weakening my strength. i swam down to the sea floor and dug myself a pit to sleep in, being careful of my wounded left arm. i nestled up into the shifting sand and let the seaweed settle over me as i slowly drifted off to sleep.
i only got about an hours sleep before the storm stopped its raging and calmed down a bit. i turned onto my stomach. my uncovered breasts squished against the sand underneath all of my weight. i lifted up my wounded arm to check on the damage. i grunted when i seen how much of my arm had frozen over with my blood. When a siren feels pain, they feel it ten times worse than it would be for a human. So merely a splinter can cause severe pain. I picked at the crystal, prying it off of my skin so i could remove the hunk of wood from my forearm. I squirmed as the intense pain spread throughout my arm and shoulder. I snorted as i knew for certain that i had to find Mulires Sapientes so that she could mend my arm. The hate i have for that old sea hag is as raging as the ocean its self. But i know that if i don't find her and ask her to heal me, nobody will. I can't just yank it out, my blood won't allow me to as it has seemingly frozen over to protect my delicate flesh from my own yearning for blood. it has happened to many sirens over time. their own hunger for blood leads then to their own deaths. i sighed and shifted my weight again, i looked around. The sand had settled and the current wasn't as bad as before but it was still quite stormy on the surface by the looks of it. I scanned my eyes quickly over my tail and noted the amount of scale slime. I grunted and set off to collect more pi-pi shells to grind up and smother onto my tail so the slime wont be as noticeable to Mulires Sapientes. Quickly, i snatched a handful and ground them up between my thumb and forefinger. Eventually i had enough salty sea water and pipi shell paste to cover the whole length of my shimmering Silverstone coloured tail.

After another two hours of swimming out into the open water, i finally spotted Mulires Sapientes's cave like hole that goes deep into the sand. the water seemed to change colour as i traveled deep into the vertical cave. suddenly, the walls rose up around a corner and i emerged into a whole new room. i floated up to the surface and took a big breath of the hot and muffled oxygenated air. it made me feel hollow and empty as i breathed through my mouth and nose instead of my small gills. i looked around at the rocks that seemingly floated in the still water, not moving but not connected to the sandy ground. moving my gaze i looked at all the mud pots and clay jars that lined the walls and the human objects that lay scattered everywhere, in the water and on the rocks. things stolen and things found. i slowly scaned the room in search of the old sea hag, still not moving in the unnaturally calm water. i jumped in fright as i heard a croaky and scratched voice coming from over my shoulder say "WhY sO AFraiD my ChiLd???
