We take them for granted.
We love them while they're fighting for us.
We ignore them when they stop.
They get nothing.
Only empty and broken promises.
From the ones they were sworn to protect.
I knew none of them were suffering.
I thought they were being honored.
I thought they were being respected.
I guess I thought wrong.
We have ignored, hurt, and abandoned our protectors.
We abandoned them in their time of need.
And I am sorry.
We need to start fighting for them.
We need to be there for them.
And it needs to start now.
So let's help out our helpers.
Protect our protectors.
And fight for our fighters.
Just as they have for us.
