JJ's House

Wilson pulled the Harley over next to the only car left in the lot; a green Land Rover Discovery, parked a few feet away from the exit. JJ slid off the back of the bike, taking the helmet off slowly and handing it back to Wilson.

"Thanks for the lift," she smiled, "give me a sec to get the car started then just follow me." He nodded and stayed sat on the Harley, not turning off the engine. JJ jogged to the driver's side door, opening it and jumping in behind the wheel. It had been a weird night to say the least.

After half an hour they pulled up outside a huge house with black metal gates enclosing the driveway. Wilson watched, bemused, as JJ leaned out if the window to type in a code to open the gates, before driving through and parking up on the drive. Wilson followed, watching as she opened the garage to the left of the house and waved him in. He stopped the Harley a few feet from the wall, cutting the ignition and getting off slowly, dragging his kit bag with him.

"This is your place?" He asked, amazed. She giggled and nodded, retrieving a set of keys and unlocking the front door after they exited the garage.

"Yeah, this is home."

"This place is huge!" Wilson exclaimed, which only made JJ laugh louder.

"There's more behind the house; there's a barn and a stable yard." She giggled again at his expression. "Why? What're you used to?"

Wilson smiled. "I live in a two bedroom apartment in the city centre, it's hardly 'manor in the country'."

The two made their way into the enormous hallway, kicking off their shoes as they did.

"I'll show you round tomorrow if that's alright, I reckon we're both too tired right now." He nodded, following her upstairs. They climbed two flights of stairs until JJ stopped outside a door to their right.

"That's your room, there's a bathroom behind the door to the left once your inside." Then she turned and pointed to the door about seven feet away, "that's my room. If you need anything let me know."

"Thanks, JJ. I get that this must be weird, having me here."

"It's okay, really." She smiled again sleepily, "well, goodnight."

"Night." Wilson ducked into his room, shutting the door behind him and listening as he heard a similar soft thump as JJ's door closed too. Finally alone he turned around to look around the room. There was a queen sized bed directly in front of him, with white sheets and matching blue pillows and a comforter scattered over the duvet. To the right of it stood a wooden chest of drawers and a wardrobe. And opposite the furniture, there was a plasma screen hanging on the wall. It was definitely a far cry from his apartment back in the city.

Too tired to unpack fully, Wilson routed through his bag until he found a pair of grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt and changed quickly, sliding under the covers with a relieved sigh.

Before he dozed off, he decided to check his phone. Sprawled out on his back, he unlocked it and began to flick through the four unread messages and the list of eleven missed calls.

Hey Wilson, just wanted to check you got to L.W alright. Who you bunking with then? Maddy's pining for you already, mate.

McKein

Wilson, e-mailed you a triple homicide case that came in just after you left. Think we have out suspect but want your opinion on the details.

S. Hart

Hey, call me as soon as you get to Little Wharton. Miss you already, Seth's partnering me with McKein until you're back.

Maddy

Is everything alright, have you got to Little Wharton yet? Has something happened? Call me when you can.

Maddy

Two missed calls from Hart.

One from Jo.

One from McKein.

And seven from Maddy.

Wilson sighed, and began to type his replies slowly, eyes closing as he started to fall asleep.

To: McKein

Only just arrived and another body showed up. Staying with one of Fobbs' officers, JJ. Not sure how long I'll be here so good luck with Maddy, guess you'll need it more than I do.

To: Hart

Haven't checked e-mail yet but should have a reply sent to you by lunchtime tomorrow. Although I'm sure you're perfectly capable of managing without me.

And finally to Maddy:

Sorry I haven't replied earlier. I've been busy since arriving, but it was unavoidable. Another body has shown up, so I won't have much time to call over the next few days.

Before finally giving in for the night he checked the e-mail Hart had sent him - it was easy enough to figure out - he would call him in the morning. He ditched his phone on the bedside table and curled up under the blankets, drifting off within minutes.

A/N: Thanks for reading so far guys. Really pleased with the votes and stuff so far, to say it's my first piece on Wattpad. Although I gotta admit I feel like I'm not being consistent with Wilson's character, but that might just be me. Suggestions? Comment, vote, you know the drill, thanks again!
