{I would just like to clear up that yes this is currently following the movie. However this is the last chapter for a while following the movie. The next chapters will be my own ideas. This is before the movie so Mr and Mrs Heelshire come back.}
Ruby was told that for the morning until the Heelshire's leave, she would follow them and watch how they tend to Brahms. She had found out that Mr and Mrs Heelshire's life's revolved around Brahms and the rules. Not once did they mention anything other than the rules or what it was she had to do.
"You will wake him up at seven each day and dress him." Mrs Heelshire informed Ruby once she had woken the doll.
"Right."
"You will find his clean clothes behind you." Ruby looked behind her to see a pair of clean clothes folded neatly upon a desk.
Mrs Heelshire returned Brahms to his bed where she led him down and motioned Ruby towards Brahms.
"So I should..." Ruby felt a little silly being asked to dress a doll.
"Wake him up and dress him, Miss Carter. There is no better way to learn than doing it for yourself."
Ruby nodded slowly as she walked towards Brahms. She took a final glance at Mrs Heelshire who gave her a curt nod before looking back towards Brahms. Very gently, Ruby took her time in lifting Brahms arms up; afraid she was going to break the doll in some way.
"He is not a baby, Miss Carter. You needn't be afraid of hurting him."
After what felt like an eternity, Mrs Heelshire took over dressing Brahms claiming that if she let Ruby do it they would be there all morning. Ruby watched her do so with a small frown.

Leading Brahms and Ruby into a room full of books, Mrs Heelshire began to inform Ruby on how she needed to teach Brahms and how he had three hours of lessons five days a week in a simple task such as reading.
"I like to start by reading poetry, do you know any Mrs Carter?"
"Uhh, no. Not off the top of my head." Mrs Heelshire sighed deeply upon hearing Ruby's statement.
"Well, it doesn't always have to be poetry... Any of these books will do, but you must read in a loud, clear voice."
"Yes, of course."
"Music, Miss Carter. I don't know how Brahms would go on without his music..." Mrs Heelshire trailed off while turning some music on. "It is his world. Of course, he likes it rather louder than I prefer, but it gives him so much joy."
Ruby couldn't help but jump upon hearing the sound of opera blare loudly from the ancient record player. Ruby was determined not to play that ever again. It'd do her head in. After dinner Ruby was told Brahms food must be stored in a container with what meal of the day it was written on top and put into a fridge in the corner of the kitchen.
"Wouldn't it go off though?" Ruby asked Mr Heelshire after helping him load the fridge.
"Not at all. Brahms will eat it later. He does not like to eat when people are watching him."
After dinner, the day passed on in the same way. Ruby would follow the two Heelshire's and watch how they looked after Brahms. Later on that night, Ruby was watching in as Mr and Mrs Heelshire prayed over the doll. She was rather baffled at how the two really did believe the doll was their son. When she had first seen it, she had thought they were just joking and it would all be over and an eight year old would come running out of the closet.
"Would you give us a moment to speak alone to Brahms, privately?" Mrs Heelshire asked as Mr Heelshire began to shut Ruby on the other side of the door.
"Oh, yeah of course."
It took mere minutes for the two Heelshire's to open the door once more and leave the room. Their faces were slightly less tightened and the pair wore very small smiles. Ruby politely smiled back.
"He wants you, Miss Carter."
"Oh... Now?"
"No figuratively, Miss Carter, He's chosen you... If you'll have him?"

The night had passed to be followed quickly by the morning. Ruby was reading a book she had found in her room when she heard Mr Heelshire call her into the room. She sighed and placed the book softly upon her bed before sliding of and making her way towards the elder man.
"Mrs Heelshire, she was kind enough to write a schedule out for you, see?" Mr Heelshire told Ruby while showing her the paper in which was a hand written list of the same rules she had read many times before.
"Thank you... I think I've got it."
"I'm sorry, I am a bit off today. It has been so long since we have gone anyway and I am anxious to be off."
"Come along, dear." Mrs Heelshire said while giving Brahms to Ruby.
"Be good to him and he'll be good to you. Be bad to him..."
"Oh" Mrs Heelshire cut Mr Heelshire off. "She will be good to him, won't you, Miss Carter?
"Of course, Yes, I'll treat him like my own."
Mrs Heelshire smiled sadly at the doll and gave Ruby a hug while whispering she was sorry. Ruby Watched them leave the house and get into the car while thinking. It was like they were never coming back.
