Ruby counted to ten in her head to try and compose herself before she felt breathing on her neck again. She didn't know whether to just run or turn and face whoever it was. In the last few seconds she decided it would do no good running because he would just run after her. Taking a deep breath on her countdown she took a step forward and slowly turned around to face the intruder.

A gasp was caught in her throat as her eyes set upon the man. There were many things Ruby was gasping for. The man was tall and toward over her by a good 2 feet. His shoulders were hunched together and glancing towards his hands there were clenched together and balled up into fists. However, despite all this, one thing confused Ruby, He had a mask on.

Breathing at an abnormal pace Ruby started to back up slowly as if he wouldn't see her if she did. The man followed her through, his footsteps were louder than Ruby's by a mile.

"Who are you?" Ruby tried to fight the fear out of her voice. "Why are you here? You do realize there's nothing here of value?" Ruby started to turn from scared to confused upon looking at the mask the man had on.

"You broke the rules, Ruby." The man stated to her while still following her down the hall.

"What rules!? How do you know my name?" Ruby was confused upon hearing him speak her name.

"You don't know because you forgot them!" The man's voice was loud and made Ruby jump.

Ruby decided now was probably the best time to leave. Turning around, she ran down the hallway back towards her room and slammed the door while locking it behind her. She began trying to pull the chest of drawers in front of the door. However, Ruby abruptly stopped when a dark shadow loomed over the gap in the bottom of the door. She held her breath, hoping he wouldn't know she was in there and let it out once his footsteps retreated. However, upon pulling the drawers she stopped again when hearing another voice.

"Ruby?" Slowly, her head turned to the locked door where she stared at the door handle.

 "I'm sorry..." It was a child's voice.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you Ruby!" The voice seemed distressed and Ruby wondered why there was a child in the house and how it knew her name.

Slowly Ruby took a hold of the handle and unlocked the door gently, Trying not to make any noise she turned the handle and pulled the door open. Looking to the right and then to the left she tried to find any sign of the intruder but couldn't sense any. However, as she was going to take her first step out the door something on the floor caught her attention. It was the doll. Next to the rules.

"You need to follow the rules now Ruby." She heard the child's voice flow through the hallway.

"Where are you?" Ruby called out in a sweet voice you would use on a child. "Are you okay?"

"The doll, Ruby..." As Ruby was about to say something else the voice changed sharply into that of the intruder's "Follow the rules Ruby!"

Ruby's eyes widened at the realization as she backed up into the room and slammed the door, locking it and began trying to pull the drawers in front of it again. All that was heard in the room was Ruby's sharp breaths as she pulled the drawers and her heart beating against her chest.

Once she managed to get the drawers halfway in front of the door when she decided to move around to the other side and lean all her weight onto the other side and push it along instead. It took her 5 minutes to get the whole cupboard in front of the door and she briefly wondered how she was going to move it to get out but at this moment she didn't care.

She slowly slid down the wall next to the drawers and took deep breaths to try and steady her breathing. Her head rolled onto her left shoulder where she rubbed her forehead in it. As she was about to lift her head up something in the corner of her eye caught her eye. It had a handle, Like it was meant to be opened. Slowly Ruby's hand slid out on its own accord and pulled the handle causing a little hatch to swing open.

Ruby decided she had nothing to lose and the man was somewhere outside in the hallway anyway. Slowly she began to crawl through the small space and followed it along until she met a different room. One that was never in the house. Ruby stood with a confused look on her face. Along the walls were little holes where you could look out. Looking out of one Ruby recognized the wallpaper. It was in the hallway. But where was she?

As she started to look around Ruby could tell this was made into some sort of living space. A living space she had no idea was even here. On the other side were more holes causing Ruby to realize. This big room was in the walls!

As she slowly ran a hand through her hair, she heard something being harshly put down onto some sort of shelf and a lot someone grumbling to themselves. Ruby being Ruby decided to go and see what it could have possibly been. As she stopped on a corner, she slowly looked around and saw the same man from the hallway. Only this time the mask was on the counter while he splashed his face with water.

Ruby realized in those few seconds. The mask he wore looked exactly like the face The doll had. A gasp got caught in her throat causing the man to whip around and make eye contact with her. Another gasp got caught in her throat upon looking at the man's face. Half of his face looked like it was burnt many years ago and scarring had occurred.

Slowly Ruby lifted her hands up like she was just told to by the police. The man just stared at her with something Ruby couldn't make out in his eyes. Ruby suddenly remembered something she read in the paper before she started this job. The Manor caught fire many years ago killing their young boy. But there was no body found and the fire didn't go out of control so they should have found one. What was their sons name again? Ruby's eyes widened and she looked at the mask and back to him.

"Brahms?" Ruby breathed.
