This guide is here to help those that have begun the epic journey through The Dragon's Star Chronicles, a collection of stories that focus on a number of important individuals that have and will continue to shape the very reality that they dwell in. I am not here to tell the stories of those individuals. I am simply here to offer my insight and understanding of this complex reality, for those that wish to explore beyond the stories and their inhabitants.
Who am I? You might ask. What is my part in all of this? By what authority do I claim to be able to explain those things, that most attribute to the Divines?
Well, I am known by two names. The name I use among mortals, is Allyan the Astronomer. The name I use among dragon kind, is Allynth the Silver. I am a traveller, one who is no longer bound by the restrictions of walking in one realm, for the duration of my existence there.
My part in all of this, is to observe, learn from and nudge along those few, known as paragons. Paragons are individuals that have risen above the perceived restrictions upon mortal existence. Each is exceptional in their field of expertise. But they are also exceptional in their broadened perceptions of the worlds that they dwell in. Some are grand heroes, as expected. Others are amazing artisans. There are those that have learned to take the very nature of thought to unimaginable levels. There are even those, who have become paragon teachers, those who can pass their exceptional understanding on and sometimes inspire new paragons.
I claim no authority over that which is Divine. The only authority that I can offer is the authority of more than a millennia of experience, research and observation. I have been titled, by those much greater than myself as a Greater Paragon, one who has reached the status of paragon in numerous areas of expertise. My knowledge does not come from books or temples, only, but is steeped in the joy and pain that true experience offers those of us who seek it.
So, I am here, putting a small bit of what I have learned to paper, for the benefit of those who seek it. It is a task that I was originally hesitant to take on. But the coaxing of an old friend, a priestess of the Temple of Knowledge, has convinced me to do this.
I do hope that you, the reader, the curious individual who has continued to read this far, will gain a small glimmer of understanding of what I have to share.
