GWEN'S POV
I opened the door to the cafe and hurridiedly went t the back to get my things away. For what reason, I was all quick and off the edge, I did not know. Nate wasn't there behind the counter. Everything after that was like in fast forward. Until he walked in. Everything turned normal again. He came in with a confident strut and a smile that seemed more of an infectious disease. It's the type of smile that when you see it, you don't need to know why he's smiling, you just try and wear that smile yourself and all things seem to be a blur.
"Hello there," he said, both hands placed on the counter and slightly leaning in. I swallowed loudly before replying.
"Hey," I manage to squeak out. Wide- eyed like a deer in headlights. "What would you like?"
He looked me in the eye. "Another Iced Coffee, please," he looked up to the menu above my head and squinted, as if to choose some more. But that squint tried to hide the mischief in his eye and he was forcing himself not to smile. He crossed his arms and looked at me again. "And the time when you get off."
I again felt like I was choking. Like, something was blocking my windpipe. A string of "Uhh"s and "Umm"s came but no sensible words after them. When I mentally tried to shake myself up I finally managed to breathe in. I looked back at him and everything went fast forward again. I was talking to him and and we were sitting down and we were talking and then a ringing sound came from somewhere and I opened my eyes.
It was from my alarm clock and if I didn't get a move on, I'd be late for everything.
Great.
JACK'S POV
While tousling my hair with a towel to dry it, I was checking my phone for any updates from Finn or anyone else for that matter. It wasn't exactly easy juggling University with an unexpected career. I grabbed a shirt from the drawer - my drawer- I still had to get used to it. This whole room is mine now, it would be a new home for me. Although, it's times like these when I realize that it's just me here that I remember all the family trips and all the lunch in the graden and all the tv shows we watched. Call me cheesy, but I never had to deal with anything alone. I had Finn always close by my side, my brother and my friend, in that case I always had family along with me.
I walked through the gates of Bristol Uni and realized that I was not the only busy body around. Students had their noses between books, even though the semester just started. My phone beeped and I quickly answered it.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Jack, thank God!" Finn exclaimed in relief. "Remember what you wanted in the site? The long bars or whatever? Yeah, it can't happen, man. It messes up everything and I mean everything. It messed up the font and then the post layout and it messed up the tags too and also the links. It's just not happening." He was panicking and talking really quickly. I didn't need to listen to his whole explanation to know that this was a huge problem.
"But anything else would look awkward. Try studying it again. Maybe you just missed an extra 'x' or something." I suggested, trying to keep a calm tone.
"Done that since last night and I swear I didn't see anything," his tone was approaching desperate now.
"It's okay, Finn. I'll try fixing it tonight," Looks like I'm going to have to buy another cup of coffee later. Then, I remembered the girl from last night. Maybe I will see her again.
"Okay..." his tone has lightened a bit. "Now I can sleep," he said with a sigh.
"Don't you have classes?" I asked.
