I was standing on Connor's side of the stage.  The boys were all right next to me ready to run out on stage.  Tris was first and the crowd went nuts.  Con and James were next with Bradley right behind them. But before he ran out he put his hand on my back and whispered in my ear.

"You look amazing tonight, and happy birthday." He said then ran off to his screaming crowd.

I just stood there with my hands on my hips and a confused look on my face. Bradley never talked to me like that, not in a serious way at least. I kind of just shook it off and enjoyed the show. The boys were killing it.  The energy in the venue was nuts. Everyone was singing along to every song, and screaming at every word the boys said.  It was insane.  Tris even whipped up a sick drum solo.

"Alright it is that time of the show where we cover a song." James said into his mic.

Ah yes! It is my favorite part of any show. Before the last tour I talked to the boys and Joe about doing a different cover each show. I said that each boy should pick a song and they should all learn it.  That way each of the guys could have their own twist on a show. With a different cover each show it makes that certain show different from others, and gives fans a sense of pride because they got to be the only ones to see them perform that cover.  Plus, the boys got their start by doing covers so it really is part of their nature.

"This cover is for someone very special to all of us," Connor said.

"Some of you may know of Miss Kelsey Bates. She works on our staff alongside Dean, but what some of you may not have known is that I have known Kelsey since we were two," Brad said and the crowd let out a huge awwwww!

I'm thinking to myself, 'what the heck are they going to do omg.'

"Well this cover goes out to Kels on her birthday," Tris said pointing at me. I waved laughing.

"She is currently side stage so if you can see her wave!" Connor said pointing to me. I just waved at the hundreds of girls waving to me.

Just so you know I am hating this, I hate attention on me.  I was just so happy they did not drag me on to the stage.

"Well this song is something special to Kelsey, but we also used to scream it at the top of our lungs when we were in school and she still listens to it every day. So if you know it sing along, and if you don't know it still sing along." Brad said and then turned to me giving me a wink.  I had an idea of what he was going to play but honestly was so unsure. Then I heard the first strum of the guitar and knew exactly what they were about to play, it was 'Florescent Adolescent' by Arctic Monkeys. I put my hands over my mouth and my eyes got huge.  Tris was looking right at me, pointing to me with his drumstick, I pointed right back and just shook my head with the biggest grin on my face.  Brad then began to sing, and so did I, shouting every word from the side of the stage. The boys were singing back up vocals, and running around the stage.  The crowd was so into it, and I was dancing on the side stage with Joe.  Brad kept looking over and sticking his tongue out, and every time he did I would just shake my head.  He was right; the surprise was not that bad.  It was perfect actually.

I was talking to Joe about how weird they all had been the past two days, when I felt an arm pull me onto stage.  It was Connor. I was shaking my head no no no no at him but he would not let go. Suddenly, I was in front a huge crowd of screaming girls, probably wanting to rip my guts out.

Connor put his arm around me and said, "Wasn't that bad of surprise right?"

"Depends on what is about to happen right now," I smirked at him.

"Alright! Everyone helps us sing Happy Birthday!" James said into the microphone. Oh god no, please no.

And the crowd and the boys started to sing....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.......

"You killed it during that cover by the way," I said to Connor. "And thank you, I know you all know how much I love that song." Connor nodded.

I walked over to Tris. He got up from his drum kit, and gave me a hug.

"Thank you!" I said to him. He just gave me a head nod and I walked over to James putting my arm over his shoulder.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.....

"Thank you thank you thank you!" I said into his ear.

"Anything for the birthday girl," he said to me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KELSEY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

The crowd finished singing and they sounded great. Brad walked up to me with the mic and put it in my face.

"Thank you all, you sounded lovely," I said with a big ole goofy smile on my face. Brad began walking me to side stage.

"Don't worry I have another surprise for you," he whispered in my ear.

"What? No, Brad you..." He did not let me finish. He turned around and ran back on stage and starting singing Rest My Love, which also happened to be my favorite song from the new album. Once the song was over I headed to the dressing room. I sat there drinking another vodka with cranberry and talking to Joe about the upcoming tour. I was trying to convince him to go out for my birthday.  He was not buying into it, which was a bummer because I always had this secret mission to get Joe extremely drunk. Not tonight I guess.

It was about 30 minutes later and the boy stormed into the dressing room looking like sweaty maniacs.

"Bravo! Bravo! You are true rock stars!" I said clapping my hands. Brad sat down next to me on the couch. I turned to him and chuckled, "you need to shower mister."

"You've clearly got a few drinks in you," he said to me laughing.  He was always able to tell in a heartbeat when I had any ounce of alcohol in my system.  My voice always got a little bit higher, and Bradley always noticed.

"I can do what I want, it's my birthday duh," I said to him.  "But seriously thank you for that birthday present. Your cover was amazing, and it was so great to see you all rock out to my favorite song."  I wanted to give him a hug but he was honestly so sweaty I could not touch him.

"Oh trust me that's not even your birthday present." He said getting up and going to shower.
