"G-get away from me, you freak!" You yelled at a man creeping closer to you. It was around 11 PM and the only reason you were out walking was because you stayed to study for a while after school. And that while was almost 4 hours long.
The man smirked, you saw his teeth shimmer in the moonlight. He jumped on to you, shoving you against a buildings wall. You felt a burning sensation in your neck as he bit you there. The man held your wrists tighter as his 'fangs' went in deeper. You felt sleepy. You shut your eyes.
You awoke in the same place that you were last night. You attempted to stretch, but cringed when your neck throbbed with pain. You put a hand there to touch the wound. 2 holes. You shrugged and sighed, attempting to get up. Once you did, you pulled out your phone to see it was almost time for morning classes. On normal circumstances, you would be headings straight home, but you did have that big final for Science today...
You slowly walked out into the sunlight, which of course did nothing, you though at least. You passed by a few shops, you stopped once you saw a (dress/pet/videogame/etc.) in the window, you giggled and pressed your face up to the glass. You took a step black once you saw the shop owner staring at you from the inside. You looked at the item again before realizing something shocking.
You didn't seem to have a reflection.
"Did I hit my head last night?" You said aloud.
Soon enough you were at school. Your body ached where ever you touched it. You looked down at your hand and saw it smoking. You gasped and quickly went inside, into the school's bathroom. You stopped to look into a mirror, well shit, you didn't see anything. You sighed and sat against the bathroom's wall. You felt as if you wanted to cry, but you couldn't...
You heard some one come through the door so you quickly stood up. It was a boy with plain black hair, he looked so normal...
He shot you a quick pity smile, "Are you okay?"
You nodded and looked away.
"You know you're late for class, right?" He titled his head to the side.
"And so are you..." You replied back.
The boy let out a chuckle, "I'm Yamada Taro."
"(Last name) (First name)." You said, walking out of the bathroom, (shoving your hands in your pockets/smoothing out your skirt), trying to get away from Taro.
"Your late, (Your name)." The teacher frowned and slapped her ruler on your desk.
"I know."
"And why is-" She saw the red spot on your neck and weird bruises where your skin showed. She said nothing else before, turning around and walking back to her desk.
You take out a book and begin to read. You swear you could feel some one's eyes on you. You look up and see Budo Matsuta watching you, but of course he jerked his head in the other direction when you looked at him. Why would the Karate club leader be looking at you? You aren't as nearly as popular as him. You shrugged and returned to your book. During class, you caught him staring at you several more times.
The bell rang and you got up from your seat, making your way over to Budo's. You slammed your hands on his desk and looked him straight in the eye.
"What do you want?" You asked him, venom filled your every word.
"(Your name), right?" Budo smiled at you.
You bit your lip and nodded.
"I'm sorry."
"For what?!" You slammed your hands on his desk once more.
"I didn't know what I was doing, I felt hungry and just attacked the first person I saw..." Budo's voice cracked as if he was about to cry. "Did you feel any different today? Like in the sunlight or while fighting others?"
"YOU'RE THE ASSHOLE WHO DID THAT TO-" You paused and took a deep breath. "It hurt to be in the sunlight and I couldn't see my reflection."
Budo sighed, "Follow me and I'll explain."
You followed Budo to the Karate club room, luckily no one seemed to be there at the moment.
You decided to ask, "Where is everyone?"
Budo looked away, "There're dead." He clenched his fists and a tear ran down his cheek.
You put a hand to your mouth before you were able to gasp, "Who killed them?"
"I did. You don't understand, the hunger takes over you and-"
You began to shake and turned to run away but his hand grabbed your wrist.
"I'm not going to-" He started to say but a boy you saw early burst through the door.
"Senpai?!" You raised an eyebrow.
The raven haired boy had a very shiny object in his hand.
"I'll save you from this bastard, (Your name)!" Taro jumped at Budo, shoving the, what you assumed to be, knife into his chest. Budo looked down at the younger boy and grabbed his head. Senpai struggled, trying to get out of Budo's grasp. With in seconds, the Karate club leader snapped the boy's neck. He laid on the ground, his eyes showing his final emotion.
Fear.
Budo yanked the knife out of his gut and wiped it off on Taro's corpse. He turned around and frowned, bursting into tears.
"T-there goes another one...(Y-your name)?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you know what we are?" He rubbed his eyes.
You shook your head.
"We're vampires..."
You giggled, despite everything that just went on, "I kinda already figured that out..."
Budo smiled softly and looked down at Senpai, "Now, we can't let this blood go to waste, can we?"
You smirked, your fangs slowly extending, and so did Budo's.
"Let's eat."
