"You all may now go to lunch." Your homeroom teacher said just as the bell rang.
You collected all of your books and papers. You wondered where you were going to sit today... after all you are sort of a loner...
You wanted to make friends but didn't have the time or you were too busy with school work.
You decided to eat on the roof top today. In your lunch bag there was a store bought bento box. Lazy parents...
"Oh...well...it's nothing... I guess there's one thing I want to talk about... Ever since my mom died, my dad's been drinking a lot." You heard a female's voice from the corner or the rooftop. You peered around a corner and saw two girls, Kokona Haruka and Saki Miyu, some of the most popular girls in school. You kept listening. "Sometimes, when he's drunk, he comes into my room, and... Ugh! Forget I said anything." You gasped, at the fact of what was going on in Kokona's life and that she didn't finish, but you didn't blame her, it's hard to tell something like that to a friend. "I really, really, don't want to talk about it. Look, I said I don't want to talk about it. Just leave me alone, okay? I'm not gonna say anything else...please, just drop it..." The two the them walked out of the corner, Kokona first. Luckily, they didn't see you.
You wanted to talk to Kokona about it. You doubt that would happen, especially if she can't even speak to her bestfriend about it.
You decided to leave a note in her locker.
'Dear Kokona Haruka,
I'd like to talk about domestic abuse,
Meet me at the rooftop,
At 5:00 pm.'
Your note seemed a little shady but whatever, you went back to class.
When the school day ended, you sat at a bench on the rooftop.
You constantly kept checking your (watch/phone/etc) to see what time it was.
You almost thought about leaving when suddenly she walked through the doorway of the rooftop.
Kokona was looking around for the mysterious note writer and stopped when she saw you.
You shyly waved your hand over.
She waved back and sat next to you on the bench.
"You're...um...(Totally different name that isn't yours), right?" She asked with a big smile.
"Heh...it's actually (Your name)..." You rubbed the back of your head.
"OH! I'm sorry!" For a while, it was very silent. And not even the good kind of silent. It was awkwardly silent.
You spoke up and said something. "So...um...I was kinda of listening to your conversation with Saki-"
You heard Kokona gasp.
"Don't worry! I wasn't s-stalking you or anything. Just eavesdropping! I-I MEAN OVERHEARING! This is..." You let out a big sigh. "...a lot harder to say than I thought it would..."
You felt Kokona place a hand on yours. "It's okay...thank you for trying to talk to me about it. I'll be fine..." She got up and turned to walk away.
"Kokona, wait! I'm sorry for e-everything you're going through! I wish I could help! I really do...but I can't...and I don't know at all what you're going through! But still...I'm so sorry..." You teared up a little and clenched your fists at your side.
Kokona teared up a little, too.
"Thank you, (Your name)..."
Then she left.
You saw her the next day at school.
She walked up to you and gave you the biggest hug you've ever received.
After that Kokona became your first friend, her dad stopped drinking and gave her positive attention.
Everything was finally okay.
