When people are always using "whilst". Why not use "while"? It's not that I dislike the word, but when it is used all the time, it pisses me off. It doesn't make sense to me. I don't know about y'all, but I learned "while" first. I usually use the words I learned first more often. Maybe if you're writing a story, it's fine to through it in a few times. Even in a conversation every once and awhile. When it gets to the point of using in every other sentence, it makes me mad. If you think it makes you seem smart, I don't believe so. I think that it sounds kind of 'snooty', I guess. I don't know. I'm probably insane, but I just hate it so much. Does anyone agree? I just feel like it looks more like someone had a typo when trying to write "while". But again, I'm probably insane.
