Chapter 2

"Eleri!Give it back please", Shouted Austin as he rushed behind her downstairs. "You never keep your promises, Mr. Fortin. I'd never make a deal with you if I was a business man you know. You aren't trust worthy",Said Eleri as she circled around the dinning table so that Austin was exactly at opposite end of it.

"Oh c'mon. Stop being ridiculous and come here now", he ordered and then added "please, please, please". He chased her as she kept circling the table.

"Now was that an order or a request?" Asked Eleri. Austin made an anticlockwise turn so she started running towards kitchen where Veronica was preparing breakfast.

"Whatever you want it to be. Just give me my phone back, it's a very important business call Eleri." He said as he crossed Veronica almost making her fall. "Stop it you two! You sometimes make me feel as if I'm living in a house with five year olds", Said Veronica as she tried to save the pancakes in her hands from falling.

"Veronica", Austin didn't even complete but Veronica knew what to do. "Eleri if you don't stop straight away I'd not let you have your desert for dinner", Veronica tried her best to convience Eleri." Wait what? " Eleri stopped running and Austin took advantage of the situation and tackled her to regain his phone. He quickly answered it and gestured Eleri to shut up. Eleri looked at Veronica vexed. She just stomped her feet and marched to the sofa and threw herself on it.

"Yes Mr. Sans - no not at all - I was just consumed in something" said Austin as he made his was to the swimming pool. He threatened Eleri as he passed sofa by motioning a hand to slit his throat. She saw him for a moment and said, " Veronica you always support him. He had promised to go for a movie with me yesterday . He is so workaholic".

"No love it's not that...." Veronica tried to make it up but Eleri just ignored her. She made her way to Austin who was still talking on phone. "Alright Mr. Sans I'll look after it as soon as possible-you too, have a great d-". Elerie marched to him and even before he could complete she snatched the phone and threw it in the pool. Anger flared bright through Austin.

"What the hell was that? Keep your stupidity to yourself, know why? Because YOU ARE RUINING MY LIFE", Austin shouted. "Just stop being this childish. I've had enough. Don't create more problems for me".

Tears swelled up in Eleri's eyes. She was rather shocked to the reaction she had just received. She didn't say a word. She turned back and left Austin alone. He kicked the chair beside him in frustration and it somehow landed in pool like his phone. After a few couple of minutes he actualized the situation and what he had done.

"Veronica can you please see if she's alright?"

Veronica replied with a simple nod.

"It was wrong wasn't it? "

"What?", asked Veronica.

"The thing I said to her".

"Well if you want the truth", she said placing the plates on the table," it's just past five months she came here. This is her world Austin, you, me , this place, she hasn't let much inside her. She just wants to socialize a bit like normal people. Never thought you would be the one who would fail to understand her". All he could do was dwell upon his deed.

"So what do I do now to make it better?".

"Talk to her."

He knocked the door. There was no response. He tried again, "Eleri? Are you ok?". He slowly unlocked the door and saw her sitting on the same place where she used to sit when she was upset, on the bed beside window. He walked to her and saw her. She was crying and seeing this made him feel more guilty.

"Eleri I'm sorry. Please forgive me", he said trying his best to be saccharined. "Oh c'mon I know I'm bad but don't make me feel like a douche. " Her nose was still red. He took her hands in his and made her look in his eyes. "Hey, look here", he saw her wet eyes and felt broken. "Whatever I said earlier was not what I truly feel. I was just caught up in the moment, okay? From the day you entered my life you've just made it better. You've given me a reason to live", this time the words just slipped from his heart to his mouth. She looked at him doubt fully wether or not to trust the words.
Am I a liability? Is Austin forced to keep me here with him? Am i complicating everyone's lives?

"I really mean it Eleri", said Austin as if he read her mind. He whipped her tears and added, "alright to make it up lets go to movie today evening. Will that do?". Her face lit up at this and the old innocent Eleri was back.

"Oh my god! What is taking her so long? ELERI", he shouted as Veronica shook her head. "Girls need time Austin".

"Just a minute", came a voice again.

"Her minute goes on forever", Said Austin while Veronica laughed at impatience of his.

After ten minutes they were in the car. Eleri was dressed in pink top with black pants and ankle length boots. Austin was dressed in a casual shirt, jacket and jeans.

"Are you sure about watching this movie? I mean 'Die undead: A vampire tale ', what kind of title is it? Sounds banal to me", Said Austin."Maybe it's not all that bad, afterall life is about going banal and original."Austin rolled his eyes over the fact that she was intellecting in a stupid movie's name.

They entered the theaterand went straight up to recliners. It was only when they reached the top did Eleri realize that the hall was empty. In fact they were the only two souls there."Isn't it too empty?", asked Eleri checking time to make sure they weren't too early.

"Well, umm- let me put it this way, I wanted you to enjoy to the fullest so..." Austin said goofishily.

"So you bought the whole show?!", she askedwide eyed.

Austin put his hands in jacket pocket and shrugged"Maybe".
Eleri was impressed by his efforts to 'make it up'. Soon the movie started and they were guffawing evethough the movie was supposed to be of horror gener. The movie had vampires making a secret association in an old well, planning some appocolypse and dieing in the end due to obliviously initiated forest fire. The movie was ridiculous but the time they shared enjoying it was worth it.
